Ford v. Chevy, Redwings v. Avalanche, Less Filling v. Tastes Great, et. al., ad nauseum....adolescent pissing matches.

While I have preferences, am loyal to brands/companies that deliver a good product they stand behind, I am not blind to their weaknesses nor to the strengths of a competing company/product.

My loyalty only goes so far. If my preferred brand gets outdone by a competitor, I'm often inclined to forgive them for one product cycle, but only if they redeem themselves in the next product cycle. If they put out an inferior product twice, I'm switching.

As far as the ATI v. NVIDIA cycle goes, I never buy the top-end video cards that are competing for the performance/price crown, anyway. Hell, I never even buy last year's top-end video cards. Therefore its irrelevant to me if NVIDIA or ATI has the fastest video card in this or that or the next product cycle.

I'm not trying to change his mind at all. He can, and will, believe what he wants to, even if it goes against......everything else (i.e. IBM just as an example). Yes, I've argued with him, but only to show the faults in his reasoning. Whether or not his mind becomes changed by that doesn't matter to me.

I admitted to making the mistake and am not debating that. I agree, I didn't mean to use the term, "Driver Path" even if it does exist. What I meant by it has been clarified in the appropriate thread. All I'm saying now is that you were lying when you said there is no such thing.

What do you think I was wanting to do near the begining of this thread? I knew that 0% of the material beggerking was wanting to discuss with me concerned anyone else nor had grounds for being in this thread, yet others thought otherwise:

Plus, this thread is the appropriate place to discuss this, and by discussing it in public it allows others to voice their opinion on the subject.

But....sorry I guess.

In my original post here I basically said that you can't keep everyone and anyone from fighting and that there should at least be some set of rules that everyone can view right on hand to see whether or not someone is being out of line. I still think that, and I know others wouldn't mind it, many other forums have them and it is a common rule among them that if they are broken there will be consequences. The problem here is that some people have to find out what those rules are the hard way and therefore leads to some fights.

Quoting, verbatim, in a signature is not by any means over-the-top. I agree that it is not the most neutral way to post, but if someone is going to snap at the drop of a pin about it and not try to fix it correctly, then there is a bigger problem than the sig itself, especially if the quotes are nothing but reflections of that person's own recklessness. If you say stupid things, everyone reserves the right to hold you to them. If someone were to do so with my quotes (yes, beggerking, my verbatim quotes) I would not object.

It's not like I'm drunk and swinging a sword at everyone. In fact, I've mostly been arguing with beggerking (even though I offered for it to be done privately or in another thread) who was the first one to bring up that data/driver crap back on second page. Everything else has been brief visitations from apoppin, Wreckage and Joker, and keys going at it, the OP losing his own thread/mind and becoming Golem, two guys talking about tridents FTW!! constantly, and many other random people inputting a lot about company fanboys which actually haven't reall been an issue in here or at least isn't what so many are tired of hearing. And lets not forget the poor few who seem to be forced to veiw this thread as well as reply to it.

Really, this thread has just furthered my disbelief in Video. It's not like I haven't ever tried to stop crap like this from happening. This doesn't mean that anyone who starts getting apprehensive is going to get an immediate vacation/ban vote from me. (Really, I think its stupid how people try to ban others to begin with, except shills). People fight, don't take it so hard. It is just a forum.) Even beggerking isn't "under my skin".

His quote wasn't talking about your discusion between beggerking and you about the 7950GX2 thing. It was about your sig and how it affects every post you make. You felt that it was something between beggerking and you and better handled by PM's.

Yes, I've argued with him, but only to show the faults in his reasoning

You say you don't want to change his mind about anything? Why would you go through all this arguing just to bring up faults in his reasoning? Lets say that there are faults in his reasoning what good does that do to prove. To say that you are arguing but not looking to change his mind is misleading.

Whether or not his mind becomes changed by that doesn't matter to me

Then why do it?

That would be streaming media? :p

Surfer's caveat - don't pee when you stand up with heavy offshores.

Every surfed when the wind was above 40mph? IT STINGS! (been out in Tropical Storms - funny, I am the only one out and the wind is screaming offshore)

Check your grammar; It seems you got so caught up in using fun words that you forgot to add a verb to your second sentence, making it is rather meaningless. :p

You not only exit out of the on-topic thread, you then come to a totally unrelated thread and start cross-trolling and cross-spamming.

Then when I ask you to take the discussion back where it belongs you accuse me of provoking you?

Amazing, eh? I start a thread about fixing behavior in Video and it gets thread crapped with the specific behavior I was referring too. If I were king...

'Tis quite so. Not sure if this has been mentioned as I refuse to sift through the bitching, but an admin crackdown would be nice.

Meh, it's nitter fixed in quote, even though it was his failure of understanding that it was meant to induce confusion and was intentionally empty because of the sentence that follows it.

All that matters is the severity of hate-flames for the enemy is unmitigated in all fanboy minds. Because we all need more visual appeal for our chosen wastes of time.

This time of year in Fl. big storms are unfortunately, about the only good wave generators, so I'm rarely the only one out :) I.E. you want to surf lake atlantic during the summer here,, be prepared for victory at sea conditions all too often.

One of my times was at New Symrna. Parked at the inlet parking parking lot by the Coast Guard station and boardwalked in. Out by myself in 10'+ (FL) with winds about 45 off-shore. Sunny with serious rainfall everytime a wave went by :D. Dropping in was a serious chore as any spray off the nose stung and there was lots of it.

I feel ya brudda. I had 12 stiches in my elbow from having the wind pick-up my board and sling it at me about 8 years ago. Connected one to the inside, got covered&crunched, came up and bam! my board is about to nail me in the face fin first. Blocked and got gashed pretty solid. Stayed out about another hour before going to get it looked at, it was a really fun session :)
