Maybe that's the problem here, there are no written rules. Besides, a banning offense? A little overkill isn't it. There are other sigs that take more time to read (yours for example) and therefore more time. If your going to complain about the spaces, I've edited it just for you.

Also know that mods WILL edit your sig for you if they decide you are doing call outs and get tired of the complaints. Not saying it is right or wrong to do it, just that it is not looked on with joy by the mods.

They said I could have quotes. That's what it is. If the only person that should be concerned about it was really concerned about it, he would have talked to me about it via PM. That hasn't happend though, so I'm willing to bet all he wanted to do was cry out in public and see who came rushing for aid.

It's gotten to the point where the camps are so stratified that for many, "ATI" and "NVIDIA" are akin to racial slang or racial slurs, it touches Video posters so deeply whenever someone mentions either company.

Believe it or not, there are some of us who really don't care if ATI or nVidia is the leader. All some of us care about is price/performance. Not everyone on this forum has a love affair with nVidia or ATI. Some of us call BS on both companies, but we really don't care in the end, because we buy what is best for us. If "Johnson and Johnson" comes out with a graphics card called "baby soft poo poo" and it runs all the latest and great games with superb quality, we will buy it!

So, the way I see it is this: The forum will never get better until people understand that companies are there to serve them, not for them to serve their favorite companies.

That is why I refuse to wear brand name clothes except when the quality really does exit. Why am I going to PAY "Nike" to advertise for them? That is absurd and I will never do that. If they start paying me, I might wear their products... Until this, give me something better quality without a little logo.

Oh well, just my opinion.

The reason why I don't PM you: as far as I am concerned, you have admitted you were wrong about your "Driver path is SLI" theory which you used to make your whole argument in about 8 pages in another thread. so we basically have nothing to PM each other about.

HEHE.... I have my WinHEC computer bag. It has BOTH logos on it. It followed rule 1 of sponsorship = free or for a fee. You want me to wear it, you front the cost and compensate for it.

I just had a very interesting thought... Everyone knows how the world cup is a huge deal and fans take the game seriously. I often wonder that if this forum got together in real life, that how many deaths would occur... I mean, you thought soccer was bad, but check out forum techies, they are cut throat, ready to mob the crap outa someone who doesn't think the same way. Oh, well... Just a thought.

I agree with you on pretty much all your points. However, I don't think that the problem with this forum are people passionately debating or arguing over video hardware. The problems arise when people get into the personal attacks and/or not letting an argument go and dragging it into a new thread.

When a population grows to a certain size rules are almost a necessity. What we have on anandtech and very much so on the video forum is anarchy. The other forums here have mods who....get this moderate the board. (they pretty much lock and ban lock and ban often without explaining their decision but it helps somewhat) We don't have that on video. I am starting to think anandtech doesn't want to put forth that effort in spite of other forums providing that service for their members. So the OP is right we are the ones who must make/set the rules. We need a constitution so to speak here in video, a set of rules.

Uh I just did a simple google and came up with about 32,600 entries for "driver path" not all of them saying exactly what josh was refering to but it does exist. It would help to search more than just www.howstuffworks.com if you want to discuss things from all angles. Furthermore that was in a completly different thread, you were the first person to bring it up in this thread with the intention of continuing the argument.

look closer... they are all partial results. a document may contain "driver" and/or "path", but none of them contain the actual "driver path"..

Putting "driver path" in quotes gives you the proper results. And there were 32600 results for that. I'm guessing Redbox put it in quotes also cause he got the same amount of results.

The only other one I see "IBM - Subsystem Device Driver Path Control Module (SDDPCM)" is only a name for a software? package..
