My railing is a little wobbly from messing with it.
What are your thoughts on securing it with some L bracket things, I could even conceal them under the steps or should I look for a post bracket things to go around 3 of 4 sides then anchor that into the steps?
I didn’t change the 3/8 lag bolts that connected it to the old stairs because the bolts were never coming out without breaking the board.
I cut holes in the new step to allow the lag bolt to go thru but as covered earlier the stringer placement is off a bit and that allows wobble.

Something like this on the front and back?
Seems sort of expensive for what it is
The wobble is left/right. Front/back is sturdy

Those brackets certainly won't hurt, and without seeing how the rail posts are connected I can't tell you what will work.

I always run my rail posts down into the deck framing next to a joist and bolt through in two directions. A little shimming while tightening the bolts gets you perfect posts that very solid.

Yeah that’s how it was but I mounted the stringer a bit far away. There is a gap I’ll try to shim but I think it is too much of a gap for the shim to stay put.

Install a block between the stringers that's screwed to the deck, it should be as wide as the entire stringer at the deck. Then screw through the stringer into the block.
It's called a pressure block and will solve your problem.

That’s more or less what I did. Thanks for the suggestion!
