Question Replacement RAID drive: Need exactly the same?

I've a failed RAID drive , for which I wish to replace the faulty 4TB drive. AFAIK , the replacement drive has to exactly the same in size
as the dead one.

Off topic: I've a few questions on that particular RAID, which I would like to ask in a separate thread.

The failed drive has the following specifications:

Seagate ST4000DM000 P/N: 1F2168-300 F/W: CC52 WU Z30 4TB

The exact same drive is available on Amazon. However I'm thinking if I can replace it with a newer generation
4TB hard drive like the following:

The replacement drive should always the same size or larger than the old one.

They are all the same drives, model ST4000DM000, just made in different countries, China & Thailand.

RAID what? and using hardware RAID, software RAID, ???

Generally speaking, you do have to match sizes at least, although you can often do that with partitioning.
