Thankya, thankya very much. I had an old Intellimouse Pro laying around for ages that never worked worth a hoot. Hope this goes thru. 🙂

Guess they figure that anyone willing to go thru the trouble of scanning their mouse, setting up and printing the page and faxing it must be ligit. I had to scan the bottom 4 times to get it readable.

Its a good thing I purchased a Logitech Optical Wheel mouse... no problems...

Sad thing is about 70% of these people don;t have a problem with their mouse, i mean even look at the name of the thread "replace your Microsoft mouse, free!" no where in there does it say "bad mouse". Personally i'm happy i purchased from MS seeing they take care of their customers so well.

i sent in a request back from the original thread b/c my intellimouse explorer crapped out on me in less than 3 months
they rejected it though, im assuming b/c it was bought as oem

I assume that you all know you could be charged for mail fraud if you knowingly submit falsified evidance in this case.

How is FAXING something a case of MAIL fraud??? At any rate, I'm not conding the submission of false claims; however, I don't condone nonsense scares either.

Note: I'm not a lawyer, and I don't play one on TV. 😛

Please change the title of this thread to "replace your FAULTY Microsoft mouse", or something similar. This offer is too easily abused.

This is a great thing as long as folks have integrity and don't submit false claims.... I'm a logitech man myself, especially after my free wireless keyboard/mouse combo! I do know that a few folks at work have gotten MS mice though and had troubles. We usually just buy new ones. 😀 -TAL

This is great to know. I've had 2 replaced so far, just had another go out, and I'm sick of even another one tracking while the mouse isn't even moving.

I gotta try this with my old worn out explorer 1.0 <-- the very first one, right handed model 🙂 Think they'll send an updated version like a 3.0 since I doubt they have any 1.0s?

yes...they will send you the new 3.0 version. i did this about a year and a half ago with my original 1.0 when the connection from the wire to the housing was loose and it eventually became inoperable. They sent me the 3.0 in a month since they said that it was on backorder. i like the 1.0 better, it feels more solid.

I have an old Intellimouse w/ Intellieye 1.0 that is sort of losing its sight. I don't think it's quite bad enough to justify wasting resources by sending this one to the landfill and making a new one. However, is there any chance they'll send me a 3.0 as a replacement? If so, I think I can justify it 🙂

My mouse isn't exactly "broken," but I'm wondering if I should replace it under this plan.
Here's a picture of it. Perhaps all of you can help me decide. Thanks!

LMAO!!

Anyway bought a MS Optical Wheel mouse ... works great ... but good to see Microsoft backing their product ... shocked Microsoft isn't forcing people to return their old ones or registering their name ... social security number and underwear size to get this deal.

yea right!! like i'm going to spend $.10 to make a copy of the bottom of my mouse.

Someone please send a picture of your bottom, i really need it. thanks

A long distance telephone fax will probably cost more than 10 cents. I just sent this in with two mice, one an ancient Microsoft Basic mouse and one an Intellemouse, but an OEM version. Not sure if it will come through, but it is worth the gamble of a short long distance phone call.

i did this even before the thread in june... my original MS Intellimouse Explorer crapped out and they shipped me a new one. got it within 3 days.

Way to go idiots.

People who spread shite like this should be banned. Microsoft is providing a very good service to people with broken mice and then dipwads like you come along and abuse the service.

🙄

Just so you guys know, abusing this service does affect the way they do it. I had a replacement sent a year or two ago and I didn't need to fax anything. Gave them the number on the bottom and they shipped a replacement. Now, because of all the abuse they've had to take measures to prevent lamers from trying to get free mice.

I work in the IS dept, and we've had about a 1/2 dozen of the original explorers go bad. If I remember correctly, there is a recall on them.

Like you said, this was just for the original Explorer mice, not for current ones!
