The only losing position I see are those who underestimated Trump.

His ego may demand he respond to every criticism against him, but I don't believe he pays much mind to the traditional metric of approval rating.

If he cared about approval ratings, he wouldn't rant the way he does.
I think the losing position was overestimating the American people. Trump was just the figurehead for awfulness.

And I think you are inferring way too much from too little information. Hell, I think everyone is doing that at the moment, but some of us would like to see a LOT more information and some seem apathetic about it.

Are Democrats Skipping the Inauguration Racists?

They are and there is no other explanation.

Will CNN reporters be asking these representatives if they have a problem with a white president? Will their past statements, associations, and histories be mined to find ambiguously anti-white actions and statements? Probably not.

Do you feel that these congressmen, by refusing to attend the inauguration, are marginalizing people of white color? Do you think they oppose diversity in the executive branch? Don't they realize that people of white color bring a unique perspective that enriches us all and helps us all be connected in our polyglot, melting pot society? What kind of message does this send to children who live in our communities? Are we telling them that certain people are devalued merely because of the color of their skin?

Someone better warn Lewis. All these Democrats boycotting the inaugeruration may make D.C. flip over and sink!

And the white boycotters are race traitors I suppose...

Only race realists know the pain of the white man! We have been persecuted for so long, that it has to stop. Our suffering must be heard.

You can usually count on one hand the number of hours it takes conservatives to declare that the people complaining about racism are the REAL RACISTS. It took about two days for this one so I applaud their admirable restraint.

You can't be serious. Please tell me you're not that obtuse.

They're skipping it because Trump insulted a civil rights champion and generally promotes hateful ideas. How do I know? Because that's what they all said. And remember, virtually every one of the people boycotting the inauguration would have gladly attended a Clinton inauguration... you know, a white person. Or even a Republican win with a better candidate (even Ted Cruz, as slimy as he is). They just aren't going to endorse an immature bigot and slap John Lewis in the face.

He holds hands with worse while claiming Trump is not a legitimate president, and no, I'm not referring to Obama.

I didn't claim he said anything about race in This particular instance. I only said he was a race baiter in general, because he is.

Did you not see where I said:

" Also Trump is wrong and should just ignore the noise from the peanut gallery."

The only person doing any race baiting during this fracas is Donald Trump. Wear it proudly or don't wear it at all.

Reading is fundamental.

Did you think Republicans were sore losers in 2008 and 2012?

I know you weren't asking me, but yes they didn't like Obama winning the election.

However, there was nothing even close to the anger and angst that has been demonstrated by the left since November.

For the entire first term of 0bama, every time something he did was questioned, the left played the racism card. Every time, very loud and with a lot of malice. In the second term, it eventually fizzled out once the left finally figured out it wasn't working. But what all that did accomplish was to help get Trump elected.

What I said was a toned down version of the same rhetoric we heard out of you and your besties in 0bama's first term. You may have noticed that I did not use any foul language, and did not call anybody any names. I am adaptable and can do that if you'd like but I am going to continue to adopt the methodology of the left when it suits me. When black Congress critters band together to disparage Trump, I am going to call them racists. It's going to be as dependable as sunrise.

I may eventually tire of it. We'll have to wait and see. But until I do it will be every bit as relevant as when the left was doing it.

Or, you could be an adult about it, decide against tit-for-tat pettiness (not everyone on the left played the race card, by the way) and acknowledge that the circumstances are different.

The losing position is right there in your post - believing that a large percentage of Americans are awful people. It's what cost Romney the election. And it's what cost Clinton the election.

Be an adult about it and decide against tit-for-tat pettiness?

Remember, this thread exists because a seated Democrat mere days before inauguration called the President-Elect "illegitimate". Doesn't get any pettier than that.

No.

Republicans and conservatives didn't spend the 3 months post election trying any and every angle they could claiming McCain and later Romney were the legitimate winners.

The shining mark of grace on the left post-election has been Bernie Sanders, and it makes me wish now he had more of a shot at the Presidency. People like Lewis should be shamed for calling Trump illegitimate, just like all the birthers were shamed.

You're totally right, spending the next eight years saying the president is a secret Kenyan Muslim that is illegally the president is totally not being sore losers.

Thanks for showing just how far in the bubble you are.

You're Pavlovian. Trump dog whistles racial stereotyping & you catch that chunk of red meat before it hits the ground.

So, You refuse to face the facts. Got it. And you still cannot understand the words I typed.
