The Republicans have figured it out: they use gerrymandering.

It's not just an excuse, look at elections in places like Wisconsin. I don't remember the exact statistics but Democrats won something like 60% of votes cast statewide in their state legislative elections and that resulted in them winning something like 25% of the avaliable seats. Why? Because the borders are BS! A Democrat won the statewide election for governor but found his powers stripped ed from him by legislators representing a minority of the population acting in bad faith! Policies don't matter in the face of such shenanigans.

OK. If the shenanigans work for the GOP shouldn't they also work for the democrats then? If it works then do it!
In fact they do, just not as well.. Republicans should have something like 3 representatives from MD, out of 8. But they have 1. Look up MD 3rd district.

Still. Like it or not, that's how the process work, how this "democracy" is set up. As decided by the people. If they didn't want gerrymandering they wouldn't have elected people who do that.. I don't like it, but excuses don't help.

And yet the process also allows for her to be removed from congress. So why is that not democratic and yet gerrymandering is?

There is no law against a moron running for office, and no law against voting for a moron running for office. The last four years gave us a taste of what that can look like. Hopefully this trend will be short lived. Just some historical fluke like so many others throughout American history.
