I don't understand how they removed Steve King from committee assignments and haven't done the same with her. If anyone is worse than King, it's her. If this is the sort of person they are going to tolerate in their caucus, then this is who their party is.

The New GOP

For a second there it sounded like she was threatening him ... with a concealed gun.

All she has to do is evoke the name of Trump and how she thinks he's the biggest bestest thing since the Maxim MG and the Repub cockroaches will scatter back into their hidey holes waiting for Greene to settle down, come back out for a breather and then skitter back into the sewers when she mouths off another Trump style backfiring racist anti-lib sentiment......and she will because she was brought up that way.

Because people as her and Trump are being called out and recognized for the threat that they pose gives me hope that the loony’s haven’t quite taken over yet. But there’s a lot of them, some 70 million and more, and they vote and they run for office and they get elected because they can count on that 70+ million to vote. The politics of usual with Democrats vs republicans is pretty much over. There is no Republican Party, not anymore. Now it becomes Democrats vs QAnon and Democrats vs Alt Right, and Democrats vs conspiracy theories, and how does a political party run against THAT? How does a normal human being run against a lunatic? You can no longer consider the Republican Party as a political party, American has only one real political party... the Democratic Party. We have the one remaining political party up against some 70 million lunatics. Now try making a campaign poster against THAT.

It's always interesting to me how the right constantly whines about cancel culture and "digital gulags" when they are the ones literally calling for executions of their political opponents.

Make no mistake, if the likes of Greene or others ever get power in this country, there will be some sort of Purge event. They are not interested in liberty or freedom, only power and subjugation.

I don't know. this was the strategy to let Trump destroy himself in 2015-2016. But the more he talked, the more his bullshit became a topic. He talked so much that his comments had to be addressed--meaning, it made them relevant. People actually started asking questions. Trumpers got nuttier and nuttier and nuttier. QAnon was birthed out of this self-feeding orgy of self-loathing, ignorance, and bed-wetting terror from the worst of the worst that had been mainlining Trump for 2+ years. Because we thought that letting the crazy people be crazy would disgust actual adults and the adults would deal with them.

One of two things happened, though, maybe both:
--the continual reinforcement of Trump nonsense established a validity to it all in the minds of the ever-growing dumbfucks that latched onto that teat.
--Republican "adults" that were expected to take care of their own crazy didn't, because they needed it, because they never were adults, because they are worthless traitors

we learned a lot. But letting the crazy continue to self-validate itself in this way is not a winning strategy.

This has been the base of the party for a long time. The base is just now taking over the top of the party.

And the Democrats took the house, presidency, and senate. Don't pretend just because Trump is gone(ish) that the Republican party has rid itself of truly frightening assholes.

With Trump gone but not forgotten, the Dems need to keep up the spirit and motivation that Trump gave them this past election cycle in order to keep the rot that the Repub party is experiencing out of the halls of Congress and the White House.

The Repubs need to be kept out of the loop until their adults take back control of their party. At the moment their crazies are running the looney bin and they're taking apart the place piece by piece. It would behoove the rest of us to do our best to keep them isolated as those freaks of politics have clearly shown they're not fit to lead us into the future.

When the midterms come around we should treat that event as a clarion call to arms because the Repubs are already campaigning for it. The rest of us should be doing the same. Complacency is what the Repubs have relied on for the Dems to get defeated time after time. Can't let our guard down ever again.

Stacey Abrams gave us the example to follow, the model for victories now and forever more.

Really hope Stacey finally wins GA gov next cycle, she has true leadership quality by helping progressive candidates across the board and turning GA solidly purple. Putting the county first, party second and herself last...that's how it should be done.JFK would have agreed...
