Rep. Alan Grayson

And the REPUBLICANS are using fear tactics? LOL.

He could have been a little more accurate. Republicans want poor minority people to die quickly. I mean seriously, if you are going to use fear tactics as talking points, lets get ALL the talking points in there. He could have worked in Sarah Palin, Dick Cheney, and Glenn Beck in there.

Ohh the squealing, oink oink piggy.

It's a smart move, when Republicans invented death panels out of thin air, Democrats were forced to go on camera and defend themselves. So now the shoe is on the other foot, let the R's go on camera and defend why they have voted every single thing down, let them go on camera and tell people why they don't have any sort of coherent plan.

Still hearing nothing from the R's, just sniffling and crocodile tears.

Recent quotes from the House Floor:
TP

? ?Last week Democrats released a health care bill which essentially said to America?s seniors: Drop dead.? [Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite (R-FL), 7/21/09]

? ?They?re going to save money by rationing care, getting you in a long line. Places like Canada, United Kingdom, and Europe. People die when they?re in line.? [Rep. Steve King (R-IA), 7/15/09]

? ?The Republican plan will make sure we bring down the cost of health care for all Americans and that ensures affordable access for all Americans and is pro-life because it will not put seniors in a position of being put to death by their government.? [Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), 7/28/09]

? ?That?s exactly what?s going on in Canada and Great Britain today?and a lot of people are going to die.? [Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA), 7/10/09]

? ?One in five people have to die because they went to socialized medicine! ? I would hate to think that among five women, one of ?em is gonna die because we go to socialized care.? [Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), 7/15/09]

All of those quotes are based on lies, Grayson's comments are based on facts.

I love this. Someone in the DNC finally woke up and decided to fight fire with fire. We had Joe Wilson screaming "You lie!" in an obvious attempt to turn attention away from Obama's speech. I'm glad that a Democrat finally has had the balls to stand up and cause a ruckus rather than trying to play kiss ass with the minority party that might represent the views of 20% of Americans.

Caught this segment on hardball yesterday and Matthews played three clips of republican congresspeople in the past 2 weeks all using the same terminology, including that gray haired whackograndmalady who said they need to prevent the government from putting old people to death.

I still think Grayson shouldn't have done it. You want to push back, then show how the other side is being hyperbolic and irrational, you don't become hyperbolic and irrational yourself. Now the right gets to point the finger, legitimately, and say "see, they do it too!" Dumb.

More people should have yelled "you lie."

And the latest polls continue to show that the majority OF AMERICANS (not broken down into Dems and Repubs) ARE NOT in favor of Government run healthcare.

Yes.. saying Republicans want people to die quickly is a fact.. I guess its about as much of a fact as saying democrats want terrorists to live and get free healthcare and kill innocent people.

It's not about Dems or Repubs .......... just about all of our representatives in Congress are useless, self serving, wealth stealing, whores! They don't give a shit about the common man. Most of them are despicable and have overstayed their welcome. We need people who will truly serve and sacrifice for us and do what is best for the Country. Fat chance that will ever happen. Both parties are full of human waste and need to be purged.
rant/off

Sadly politics in this country has degenerated to the point where a "Thunder dome" style cage match is the only logical solution.🙂 Put all Senators and Representatives in a steel cage with a few weapons strewn around and lets settle this like men

You know if we just killed anyone who needed care, we wouldnt be in this healthcare mess. The cure would be as cheap as a 9mm round

We have Republican health care now. We pay money to insurance companies for health care and they take the money we pay them and cream off a profit instead of using that money to deliver that care. People die because that profit is not returned to them. They minimize what they return to us so they can maximize what they can keep for their profit. Money that should be used to keep you alive is going to make thieving scum rich.

And those who can't afford to make thieving scum rich had best die quick.

You live in the only industrialized nation on the planet that is so brainwashed with self hate that you vote to put thieving scum in your congress where they will vote for your death in exchange for campaign contributions from those thieving scum.

The truly stupid assholes are you. But anybody with any compassion at all who really loves you can only hope that you die quick.

You can be sure that a lot of the sick are taking care of that themselves.

I have to admit, I'm enjoying the Republican reaction. The faux outrage, the chest clutching, the near fainting at the fact that someone could say such an awful thing, it's hilarious. I guess they are just hoping that people don't remember a word they have said over the last 2 months or so. (they may be right... haha)

It's a terrible tactic from an honest debate standpoint. It does nothing to add to the discourse, and it simply adds more stupid fuel to an already really stupid fire. The only problem is that Republicans have shown little inclination for an honest debate, so what do you do?

People are dying right now, every 12 minutes someone dies from a lack of insurance, Republicans do not want reform, they want to kill every single proposal, that is standing up for the status quo, the status quo is KILLING PEOPLE RIGHT NOW.

You simply cannot grasp what is occurring.

If you put it out on pay-per-view, we could probably take a significant bite out of our national debt.

I betcha the Republicans who vote against HR3200 NEVER EVEN READ THE BILL! zOMG! Never!

And the dems have? Yeah right.

Did I say that? No, of course not. And yet it's a common meme on the right.

So nobody's read to bloody thing and you want us to be all hot to trot over passing it. That's just plain pathetic. Passing 'something' just so you can feel good about passing 'something' is just plain dumb. There's plenty of posturing to go around. This guys a typical political tool.
