First let me say that there's no excuse for "fat shaming." At the same time however, there's no such thing as "healthy" obese. Can you just be plain, garden variety overweight though?I haven't stumbled upon anything one way or the other. But once you're solidly into "porky" your next stop is morbidly porky. And that is definitely no bueno. Of course there will always be exceptions to most rules, but they're called exceptions for a reason.

The point is that making people feel worse than they already do for any number of other reasons, is only going to make things worse. Every person who is significantly overweight knows how hard it is to lose fat. You're basically fighting evolution - since, while you know that you'll feed your body eventually, your body has been with you for a while and has no doubts that you're a lying sack of shit.

Personally, I rather like gallows humor, but as a general rule, peeps don't like confronting their own mortality - even If the choices that they then make serve only to accelerate their demise.
