HS - riding the bus to Sporting events. I had one of these Sony Outback Walkmans along with a digital tuning with presets Sony Sports Walkman.
Used to go to the used music stores and buy up random rap cassette tapes, I remember stumbling upon Willie Dee. Sill have most of my old cassettes.

Here I was thinking I'm old school because I still use an MP3&4 player. Instead of bluetooth earbuds and a smartphone like my kid uses when we train. You old bastages still have cassette tapes.
 
About 300 that are still playable. The Aiwa dual cassette deck still works, too. I used it to,... um..., protect my and my friends tape investments.

And I still use my sansa clip with wired buds.

That's what I use. I mean I went through all of that trouble to make playlists a decade ago, imma use them. My Sony walkman died on me, or I'd still be shoving it in my mouthpiece holder.

You have to get the right ones. My son has some sport ones that wrap over your ear. They stay in even when he is throwing spin kicks/backfist/superman punches.
 
Looks like Amazon doesn't carry the ones I bought my son in 2020 anymore -

If you wanted a cup holder in your car, that was an after market accessory.

Which explains why I only have 300 working tapes. Poor design. Beer in the holders, tapes stored behind. Spillage happened.

in those days things would go obsolete within 6 months. wasn't until core came out where things began to slow down a bit. in 2011 when sandy bridge came out the first core desktop processers were still very usable with or iwthout an overclock. they did quickly age a couple years later later years later but that at that point they were nearly a decade old.
