for what definition of optimal?

to me optimal means getting a solid 6-7 hours after work to do what i want, and having as much sunlight as possible during that time

That's not how it works, I'm closely tuned to the sun, and regardless of what the clock says, the sun dictates how I feel. The world's gonna straighten out this weekend, and it'll be all good til next year.

So you're a Reptilian? That actually explains a lot.

I started feeling different when the sun was setting at 7:30. I hate this time of year and this damn time change makes matters worse.

Change it now(to real time), you'd lose after work sun. That's fine with me. I think it should be astronomically correct, and left alone. Noon should be set when the sun's highest during the summer solstice(Is that what real time is?).

Haha, yeah, I got that backwards. Oops. Either way, let's just pick one and get rid of the change.

Since we're doing PSAs, put new batteries in your smoke detectors too.

I'm all for no more time changes but i'd be in the Standard Time camp.

internal clocks are not a good thing, you need to be able to override it

5mg of melatonin 2 hours before you want to go to sleep works wonder
Tried that stuff, made me depressed after a week of use - no bueno.

Yeah not good to use too much melatonin or sleep pills in general. Melatonin is the opposite of seratonin, which is what anti depressents are, so I can see how it would cause depression if you take too much. I sometimes take melatonin if I'm having a hard time falling asleep but I try not to depend on it.

I find when we're on winter time I have a slightly better time falling asleep and getting up since everything is late by one hour. So if I'm getting up at 6am, for my body it's really 7am. Makes a tad difference. Either way it's pitch black though so that still makes it hard so guess it's a wash really. If we had to pick a time to stay on I'd prefer winter time but honestly I don't care that much I just want to quit doing this clock change stuff. Changing them in winter does not affect me, it's in spring that it does.

I have zero issues sleeping at any time, but my clock is solar. I know the real time of day regardless of what the hardware clock says, but if the hardware clock doesn't match the real time, it makes me angry and out of sorts.

interesting, i wonder if that's why i've felt down for a decade, always figured it was my other meds

i should try going a few weeks without it when i'm on vacation this christmas and see what happens

Finally back to normal time.
I hate DST and hope it will be cancelled before sprint 2020.
