Remember when right clicking in a FPS caused the weapon to do something cool and different?
I sure miss it.
That was my first thought.Originally posted by: Maleficus
Remember when games didn't suck? yea, it's been replaced by gimmicks and ZOMG GFX

You know what I miss too, remember in Half Life 1 the alt fire for the rocket launcher caused it to follow the red dot around. I think they did that in Half Life 2 but I think it may have been one of the episodes that brought it back.
Never seen it in another game, it was one of the most fun gimicks in my opinion.

I miss creative and interesting weapons in general. Most games these days just have the usual selection of quasi-realistic stuff like a pistol, a few ARs, a shotgun, and a rocket or grenade launcher.
The last game I played that had genuinely unique weapons was Unreal 2. UT3 also has fairly good stuff but it's basically the same selection from the previous games.

far cry and crysis i would consider have alt fire, by pressing x to switch gun mode 😉
Despite not being popular I loved Unreal 2 for a number of reasons. The weapons were a huge part of my enjoyment.Originally posted by: Fullmetal Chocobo

Unreal 2 and 'Armed & Dangerous' had great weapons.
