By the way, although many will describe religion as the "root of evil", it could probably be noted that in most large conflicts seemingly started over religion, one can usually find an underlying and much more plausible economic and social motive. There are exceptions of course, the most noteable of which is the Spanish Inquisition, where Spain actually gutted itself of a financial backbone made up of Arabs and Jews and ruined their own economy. Spain has to be considered something of an exception though, as they have a legacy of extreme brutality. Check out this guy, for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torquemada

This is a repost. We already beat the pie discussion to death.

Boston Creme Pie = cake
Cheesecake = pie
Apple crumb pie > Apple crumb cake
Pumpkin crumb cake > pumpkin pie
Jesus couldn't eat pie or cake on Friday or Saturday but could eat a Sundae.

See a pattern?

I don't think a very solid pattern can be derived from two examples. Throw in Pol Pot and you've got something.

I like casseroles, but I've never tried a Pol Pot. It must be like a Hot Pot but with Spanish Chicken. Anyway, we're talking about pie, not stews.

Maybe Pol Pot Pie is what he was talking about. I've never heard of it...must be some Southeast Asian dish.

Me too! I've never had Key Lime Pie before.
The best Key Lime pies are found in Key West. Although Ilamorada and Marathon pies are close.

Banana creme is way better than pecan pie. Nuts don't belong in pie...or cake...or brownies.

PSA: Can we keep this solely to desert pie and try not to stray off onto other dishes, especially savory?!?

I gotta say, my top favourite pies of all time:

1. Key Lime Pie
2. Lemon Meringue Pie
3. Pumpkin / Squash Pie

Top three... and there's cheesecake, but well that's not a pie.
