OP, why don't you stop trying to paint 1.6 billion people as one thing, based on nothing more than your own hateful prejudices? Do I blame all Jews for the horrible crimes against humanity commited by Israel just because their government claims to speak on the behalf of Jews? No, because that's bullshit. Jews in ethopia have zero say on Israeli policy, same with most Jews in the US. In the same way, muslims in malaysia or even Iran have zero say in what is done in Lybia or Saudi Arabia. There is no way to hold all followers of a religion responsible for one government or groups interpretation of that religion, even if that government claims to represent all followers of that religion.

Theism is not the problem. In fact, religion has done far more good than harm when it comes to bringing people together for the cause of peace. Without it, we'd probably still be killing anyone who isn't a blood relation.

I watched Noah with Russell Crowe a few weeks ago, and he was supposed to kill Emma Watsons baby. That movie is like 99.99999% accurate to the Bible version. So there is definately some violent encouragement in the Bible.

I'd have to look for the quote, but I used to get a kick out of the Harlan Ellison one that was along the lines of feeling worry for the Jews having only half a bible because of that.

Maybe was Kurt Vonnegut, but probably not, he was a Lutheran lapsed Freethinker I believe, The quote sounds like something Ellison would say, I'd have to look it up.

If you have to go back so many years to try to find Bible-inspired violence on par with the jihadism of today then that says something about the relative propensity of violence.
