Well I guess you are dead now. Crowds of Baptists even now are arming themselves with AK-47s.

And here's the non-religion of peace in action.

A most intelligent looking, superior individual, completely free from violent tendencies.

So which are you? :p

If the "true" religion of peace fanatics only punched people in the chest from time to time we'd all be much happier. As you can see, your attempt at equivalence was lost at conception and the premise is quite disingenuous as well.

This, exactly.

Hey, at least it's a break from claims of no difference between believing that homosexuals should not be allowed to marry and believing that homosexuals should be burned alive.

Nothing like beating people into the loving arms of Christ I say. Reminds me of that old adage "Beatings will continue until morale improves."

The whole purpose of violence is to make the false self, the ego, important. How much more self-important can a fool imagine himself to be than somebody who has beaten another causing the victim to belief in God. What a wonderfully satisfying sort of delusion that must be. But this is an ancient psychosis. Spare the rod and spoil the child. You have all been through it. And we do this words on this forum every day. Look, I'm doing it now, right?

I don't get it. I thought people were violent because we're still primitive animals.

The only thing of any real significance in this thread is the OP actually believing he posted something significant denigrating Christianity. Surely he can do better than this transparently weak rationalization of his bigotry.

The problem is that people don't apply the religious teachings in their daily lives. They talk about it, they think about it but they never actually do it. For example, the teaching, "Love thy enemy." Who in this rotten world loves his enemy? Another teaching, "Love thy neighbor." Who in this world truly loves his neighbor? I doubt very few if any at all. So religion is all talk and no action. True religion is long dead. Now, it's all a big show.

Add in long beards in some religions, garbs in others, and fancy looking places of worship in others. That is what is called religion. It's all external, superficial stuff with very little substance. Even the religious leaders don't follow any of the religious teachings so how can their followers?
