I don't think this creates the political leverage to get rid of Rosenstein that Trump was hoping for. Sure parts of the right wing echo chamber are alight but everybody else is like "That's it?".

Just read it. Wow, there's really nothing there. What a limp attempt to hit a homerun. Reeks of panic and desperation at what's really coming out ... later today?

Michael Beschloss‏Verified account @BeschlossDC
AP’s Jonathan Lemire reports that in Oval Office, Trump was just asked if he was more likely to fire Rosenstein and if he still had confidence in him, and that President said, "You figure that one out."

9:10 AM - 2 Feb 2018

This actually impacts Mueller. See, he has no authority to act on Trump without the AG. Sessions's recusal places Rosenstein front and center on deciding the fate of the investigation. Now all this noise is drummed up and Republicans are pointing fingers at none other than... Rosenstein.

I really want to see how our resident Trump fans try to spin this. Their usual propaganda sources have been hyping up the memo to make it sound like it's some career-shattering, game-changing revelation. "This, this will be the memo that shatters all opposition to Trump!" And... it fell flat.

If the Mueller investigation is a road, Nunes' attempted distraction is a speed bump.
Kind of sad to betray your nation and get nothing out of it. I suspect we will soon learn that the White House helped draft the memo. Who would have thought the Russian mafia would own the Republican party.

Right. We knew that was part of the narrative being built. Only the memo doesn't justify that at all.

Maybe it doesn't, but I'm betting Hannity sings a really special tune tonight.
Drinking game for how many times he says Hillary?

I honestly have no idea why Schiff and Wray and other intelligence wonks were so doom and gloom about releasing this memo...it's a nothingburger. It does a great job of smearing Ohr and Strzok...but Trump and friends keep saying it's the FBI leadership at issue and not "rank and file". Where is that in the memo?

Trump approved this release, so you almost think that Trump is desperate to find whatever way it takes to get himself excused from this godawful job that he absolutely hates. I wonder if he's painting himself into a method of "going away willingly" while he still protests and fumigates loudly about how unfairly he is being treated while only wanting to do good things for very good people like coal miners.

I doubt Trump even read it. I also doubt he's trying to find a way to resign. More likely he's searching for ways to fire Rosenstein so that he can appoint someone who will obstruct Mueller's investigation for him and who will display personal loyalty to the president as opposed to loyalty to the country.

Just another invented story just like how the agency was supposedly at low morale under Comey. More bullshit from a bullshit artist.

Hannity says it's the greatest disaster in Anerican history, a massive secret society dark government pulling previously invisible strings that is being unmasked by brave eagle-eyed conservatives. This is really really really serious stuff, man and they're out to get the God-King Trump.

It was a bad move to try to substantiate the conspiracy with actual evidence.

A new sock puppet tagging in?

Yeah, sorry to ruin the echo chamber you folks have going on here for many years now, but the memo might not be as explosive as it was made out to be, just saying wait and see what happens in the next week or so.

I wouldn't sing "Nothing burger" too soon.

Where is the "meat"??? Please enlighten me, I'd be happy to read any forum member's direct analysis of the memo itself. I am refraining from reading any liberal or conservative media spin as I prefer to digest this myself first. You can scroll back and see my own opinions based on the memo itself and not on spin or talking points.

The meat, if the memo's claims are true, is that the Mueller investigation occurred because and only because (as Wray said), the Dossier. Again though, there's going to be a lot of back and forth in the next week or so and we'll probably see shots fired from both sides before we can possibly know for sure.

Breaking...FISC court is clarifying that each warrant and subsequent renewal was approved by four separate FISA judges.

Also, I'm seeing tweets that Senator Burr (Senate Intel Committee) was denied access to the memo, is refusing to comment, but is PISSED at Nunes and Ryan??? Anyone confirming????

Steele went to Yahoo News? lmao(That is bad judgement). I find the part about Strozk moving from counter intelligence division to HR because of a text with a mistress. I am surprised he didn't get fired, he must have some dirt on some people on inside at the FBI!

But the reality is that his memo is showing bad judgement by the FBI for taking the DNC info as pure gold. It seems that somewhere in the process the checks and balances would have caught this before it reached FISA.

I imagine the big beef with this in the Democratic circles is that it appears they coerced the FBI into a Russian investigation over a bogus memo and that Steele was doing everything he could to prevent Trump from being elected. That ties Russia, DNC, FBI decisions all together. The puppet masters being the DNC.
