To those who have graduated from high school..whether it was just recently or ten years ago, what kind of relationship do you still maintain with those you knew back in HS?

None, I don't talk to any of them anymore.

In my case it's 'cause they never seemed to grow up and act like they are still there.

I had a very tightly knit senior class - only 64 people, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that my best friends in HS are still my best friends.
One moved to Colorado; I was best man at his wedding last month.
Three still live here in LA, I see all of them at least once a month. We still hang out like in the old days.
A couple of them, however, I haven't heard from in months or years because they live across the country.

I graduated fro HS 4 years ago and I still talk to 4 people I knew in high school. Not best friends or anything, just buddies.

eh. Differs...some of my friends went nuts and stoped talking to me at the end of the summer, figuring they would make better friends in college...some failed, some did not. The rest I am friends with, and hang out when I go back home, but other than that I dont really talk to them.

I've lost contact with pretty much everyone from high school except a good friend who lives about a half hour away. I actually corresponded regularly with about a dozen or so people through college, but wasn't able to maintain that among post-graduation moving and other busy-ness. Then again, I only still correspond with a few folks from college, and even then only infrequently, despite the presence of conveniences such as email.

I graduated with a class of about 50 people from a small town in '96. I went back home around this time last year and went to the bars and met up with some of my former classmates.

Of my class, roughly 50% of them are still living with their parents, 25% of them never went to school and are working fairly low caliber jobs without much room for advancement, and the other 25% of us went to college and never really looked back.

I have very, very limited communication with anyone from my high school class anymore.

i graduated 3 years ago from HS and i dont talk to anyone or see anyone anymore. The ones that actually went to college like myself are never arround and the ones who didnt (most of them) either moved to the city or just dropped off the face of teh earth. most of my friends got into druugs real bad, we all used to smoke pot but then the all started dooin coke, acid and heroin, all the time. so i stoped hangin out with them. the ones that are still alive i have no clue where they are nor do i really care

I graduated 8 years ago, and I'm still friends with 3 of my good high school friends. We don't talk as much as we used to, but we're not strangers. My "pop in" friend (likes to stop by without calling first) still makes regular pop in visits like he did in HS.

I graduated in '89 and have kept in close touch with two people. I'll talk to them at least once a month a see them a few times a year despite the fact that they live more than a day's drive from me. One was even a groomsman in my wedding.

Other than that, I kinda keep tabs on a few people for curiousity's sake or trade a few emails now and then with someone I haven't seen in years. That's about it. I haven't set foot in my home town in 5+ years so I have no idea who even lives there anymore.

I keep in touch with a few friends from HS. But by in touch, I mean I see them a few times a year, I don't hang out with them regularly.

I was one of the few of my friends to actually go to a 4 year college, most went to the local community college. Not because they were stupid, mostly because they were lazy or not ready.

I now live about 250 miles / 5 hours away from where I grew up so its not like I can just call them up one night and go hang out.

Not to mention college changes people quite a bit. You make new friends there, you friends back home go on with their lives. Each group has their inside jokes and after a while you don't know the inside jokes of your old friends anymore. So you begin to lose touch.

Several of my best friends, I still talk to on a regular basis over AIM or whatever. I graduated in May 2000. Others, I don't really hear too much from. My family moved halfway across the country after I graduated and I go to school here, most of them go to school in the midwest, so I don't just happen to run into any of them.

I didn't really like any of them when I was in high school, and I don't keep in touch with anyone now, either.

and this is gonna sound bad BUT....

they figured out that is 3 of them went COLIMBINE on teh school the could have elimnated like 90% of the students and teachers because of how it was designed. and some of us were seriously worried that they would go through with this

I graduated in 86' and I keep in touch with about 10-12 friends from highschool. I also run into many of my HS friends in the wierdest places (bathroom). I find that you will always stay in contact with the people you want to hang out with even if they are far away (I've got friends in LA, NY, Sweden, London, HK, Tokyo, Taiwan etc). That's the grreat thing about e-mail & instant messaging :D I can always communicate with them somehow :D

Cheers,
Aquaman

Pretty much - two hands, though.
