My 4 best friends now were my HS buddies although I was arch enemies with one of them in HS. :D One of my other good buddies is also from my HS though I did not know him back then.

Edit: I graduated HS in '87.

I graduated HS in '86, and haven't talked with anyone from HS in, oh, 10 years or so.

Nah. Most of the people I know didn't do much with HS people after graduation. I had a bunch up at university for a reunion the February of the following year but otherwise didn't really bother. Once you meet people in university you may tend to not give a crap about them.

I never really got along with people at my school much...I mostly hung out with some old friends from middle school. Of those friends I only talk to one of them these days...he moved out of Colorado years ago and lives in Phoenix now.

people in university > people in high school
in terms of 'interestingness'
That really doesn't make any sense since people in university came from high school. None the less, although I'm still in frequent contact with a dozen of my high school friends, I'm really beginning to think that I could care less about them.

I keep in contact with 1-2 hands of people. I'm lucky to have HS friends that aren't, for the most part, tools.

The past two summers I've driven 800+ miles (one way, 1,600 mile round trip) to NH to visit my best friend from HS. I'm going home this weekend to visit with several other HS friends and to see my HS homecoming football game. Three years since graduation and we're still close. I mean, shoot, I knew most of my HS friends from gradeschool and kindergarten, college isn't going to kill that.

I continued to hang-out and do stuff with my 'core' friends for about 2 years I guess, which also brought us into contact with a dozen other non-core friends on occasion, every couple months or so. This began to dwindle through the 3rd and 4th year post-graduation, as we all started to do our own things, a couple friends got married, et al, I moved 120 miles away after finishing a local community college.

For the last five years, approximately, I haven't seen nor talked to a single friend from high school except in passing a couple times. It turns out that I hung-around with a bunch of real dorks and we really had little in common after I went from a high schoolish maturity level to an adult. Some of them are still trying to party every weekend, smoking pot, acting...well...like high schoolers.

i still keep in touch with most of my HS friends, im only 3 years out, and we live together now. but the ones i dont keep in touch with, i guess its because they moved away to another city for college, or you just come to a realization that maybe they weren't such great friends after all....

Its kinda funny, my tastes in music even changed greatly. Went from heavy metal to skaterock/punk back to heavy metal/hard rock...now I listen to country music, classical, big band and swing, R&B, motown, oldies, and yes I still like metal but not as much.

This is a good question, I only have 2 highschool friend that I keep close ties with anymore(a nice latino girl that was in like EVERY class I had all 4 years, and a guy I met in health class freshman year), and I haven't even been out of highschool more than a year. I had a group that I hung out with but a few of the guy's took a turn for the worse and are wild "get drunk, do drugs, get laid" type people now. Highschool seems full of mutual friendship's though, I had alot of those, mainly because the kid's in the highschool I went to were a**holes and while they were not mean to me, I didn't feel like having anything to do with them outside of a few laugh's because of their immature actions. I kinna miss some of the people and teachers, there were alot of good times in highschool and people who I wouldn't mind seeing again. Chances are I'll run into a bunch of them in Jr. College so who knows. It's hard to keep ties though, peoples live's really change after highschool and sometimes the changes make keeping in touch pretty hard.

One, is actually a friend. She is in the Air Force, but we still talk regularly and see each other from time to time. I run into people that I went to school with, but were just aquitances, not close friends!

I'm a senior right now...this thread is depressing.

Although, most of my good friends graduated last year. I've stayed in good touch with most of them pretty well. Fortunately one of them is going to school close by and living at home...down the street.

I can pretty much see the friends I will stay in touch with over the years already.

A few of my good friends and I actually all have a top choice for colleges...not planned, not talked about...but we do. So we'll see what happens there. I don't think we'd be a group of friends there, but it's nice to have some friendly faces around and to hang out with people now and again.

Gah.

Havn't talked to anyone in 2 years. As for college buddies, bween about 8 months since I talked to or e-mailed any of them.

Most important thing to know:
"Friends come and go. Family is forever."

Remember when Friday comes and your friends want to go get trashed and your younger brother wants to see a movie with you. 10 years from now, your brother mightremember that time you went to the movies with him. hell, I rmember seeing T2 with my brother when I was probably an 8th grader and he was in college. Don't know why:) Point is, will you have any lasting memmmories from that party?
