Relationship with Fathers...

Everybody on my Dad's side of the family is an asshole. I hate each and everyone of them equally. I don't talk to my dad.

Sounds like my dad, he has several kids with several different women. My mom and dad got divorced when I was 4, I am 21 now. I have only seen him once since they divorced.
I have a good relationship with my step-father .

My Dad is like a friend to me now.

We don't talk that much, but he doesn't talk to any of us kids a whole bunch. I have minimal contact with my Mom as well. Both of them are remarried. I love each of them dearly, but our family was destroyed back in the 80s and it has never been the same since.

He is on the other side of the world, and we see each other once every 5 years. The relationship is complicated. He left when I was a kid, and then I left the country and moved to the US. We are on good terms now, talk to him once a month or so.

My dad and I had a pretty big falling out when he basically sided with my crazy, crack using, money embezzling, fundamentalist stepmom over me and kicked me out of the house. In the end things worked out for the better because of it but its not like he kicked me out with the thought of making getting into college easier. He finally figured out what a messed up person she was and moved on but its pretty hard to forgive and impossible to forget. In any case he's there for me more or less now and we have an ok relationship but I'd be lying if I said there weren't some issues. I don't think I'll ever get totally over them and I'm sure it will eat at me when he dies but I do try.

My father died at the end of May. Though we were not super closed he was always there for me when I needed his support. Boy I miss him. Christmas is going to be really weird this year.

I get along fine with my Dad and love him.

Totally different relationship than with my Mom though.

My father and I have had our moments, but I do love and respect him. Several of my best traits are from him, and although I still think he has been dominated by my mother since my brother died 7 years ago, I think he's happy. Our relationship went topsy-turvy during my bro's sickness (cancer), and I had to be the provider/caregiver/parental role, which took me a few years to get past, but it is all good now.

Considering my Dad up and disappeared about a year ago to the day leaving my mom wiht huge mess to clean up. They were married over 20 years. He left her to clean up his 200,000+ CC debt and left her with a mortgage she can't afford........let's just say I don't like him. At least my mom made it through and is on her feet clear of the BS he left behind.

My dad is an alcoholic. I haven't seen him since I was 8 (21 now). Last I heard he was still heavily drinking and feeling sorry for himself. That sucks because he isn't really a bad guy from what I remember. I have no idea where he is now but I hope he stopped drinking and is happy.

I have a great deal of respect for my father and think him to be a wise man, but we've never had a close relationship and certain incidents from my youth tarnish my image of him.

I dunno... I love my dad, but we'll probably never be super close. it's kinda hard to be around him when he wants me to lie to him.

I look at my dad as myself, just 25 years older. He is an awesome person. He is very understanding, and always has good advice. He is never too serious, and has no problems making jokes all day long. He is also one of those cool dads that everyone thinks is awesome. One of my best friends didn't grow up with his father, and what little he knew about him, he hated. He would always tell me how lucky I am, and how my dad was the "most awesome dad ever". I definitely don't take it for granted. I can't imagine what my life would be like without him. I'm sorry for those that don't have a good relationship with their parents.
