VIA will price the new PRO chipset version exactly the same as the previous non-PRO version. This means that you will quickly see the K8T800 PRO replace the K8T800 in every Athlon 64 configuration - Socket 754, Socket 940, and the new Socket 939. The chipset will be the same in all configurations, meaning 1000 HT and PCI/AGP lock will soon be available even in Socket 754 boards for current Athlon 64 chips that are based on the K8T800 PRO chipset.

Maybe he did but isn't the 939 replacing the 754 ? So we should see prices between $150-400
I know there will be 754 256 Cache "XP" chips in the future
I will not be upgrading to pro, I have had no desire to overclock. Everything is so smooth as it is at stock...![]()

I wouldn't expect anything enormous.. they seem to have a 2.3-2.4 gig ceiling...

That board does have the Pro chip... just click on the Specifications link under Product Information

Chaintech pulled the same trick with not fully utilizing the Chipset's features. The rush to be first to market to generate sales has left these companies with some egg on their faces. Here's a review showing the Abit KV8 PRO is a terrible overclocker@this time linkOriginally posted by: noteworthy
Yes this board is the K8T800 Pro chipset.
No it does not have PCI/AGP lock available in the bios. We think they can fix this issue in the bios but there is no word yet from Abit when or if they will fix the problem. They just slapped the board together without exploiting all the benefits of the pro chipset.
shame on you abit! race to the finish and coming up shorting the user.
