Do you ever just reinstall your Os for the heck of it. Sometimes I do and was wondering what the numbers are? Mine is going on a couple of months and I just feel like I want to reset the bios and reinstall the OS. Am I weird?

Reinstalling Operating Systems does not comply with my definition of fun. I do like to mess around with Linux distros, though, but reinstalling Windows, drivers, apps...thanks, but ...no, thanks.

I sometimes fantasize reinstalling my XP install. Maybe I'll do it this weekend just for the heck of it.

I just did a reinstall. I wouldn't call it fun since I had to do it twice since I messed up the first time (user error :p)

It's definitly NOT FUN!!!!! YOU HEAR ME NOT FUN AT ALL!!!!!
Maby if I had Ghost it would be a little less not fun. But still not fun.

I do like the speed of a fresh install. Just not the hours that lead up to it.

Why bother re-installing when a properly sysprep'd Ghost(or TrueImage) restore is SO MUCH easier?

I prefer getting loaded above spring cleaning as well :)

Yes.
I don't wanna lose my touch, so I will perform a fresh install just for the heck of it. I usually have to feed an excuse to the wife though, like, "umm.. honey.. the system is loaded with spyware, and its probably best that I wipe it clean"..
She hates when I have to format... I guess since the system will be mine most of that day then :)

amen brother!

Although, I also like the feel of a fresh OS install, I'm going to upgrade my system slightly in the next 2 months... I'm buying a 2nd 74GB raptor so I can run RAID, and then I'm switching from my chenming elite, to a thermaltake armor series with the 25cm fan.

as for you ppl that complain about patched, why not use nLite to create a fully patched custom version of windows? it makes the install much quicker when windows already has all your drivers as well as installing FF by defualt. ;)

Reinstalling the OS is only the tip of the iceberg. Then comes 2-3 days of reinstalling all the programs and customizations needed to make it as good as it was before playing lemming and leaping into the sea.

If it ain't broke . . . hmmm! I think I will join you in the bar. :) (I guess that option is not open to those who's use of a computer is as an expensive toy.)

I used to, back when I was in highschool but not any more. Infact my home machine has had the same Linux install for like 6+ years now.

I'm thinking of installing 2000 sp4 just for the heck of it. I have xp pro on it now. Will BF2 and oblivion work with win 2000?

If you literally are that bored out of your mind and have nothing to do, then MAAAAAAYBEEE its fun. Then again I could think of a thousand more useful things to do on a computer then resintalling the OS for "Fun". Hell I would rather try to figure out cryptic code (I'm a crappy programmer btw) or write Bash scripts to do meaningless things than to reinstall an operating system...
I think it is ridiculous to reinstall things for "fun". Hell I just made a Mobo swap, and Linux took it absolutely fine, and with Windows I had to fiddle to uninstall drivers and then reinstall them....but in the end I got it running without a problem.

Even though I don't drink, I'd rather join the other two at a bar...and if you truly get a thrill, or enjoy yourself reinstalling an OS....wellll ;) whateva floats your boat

Absolutely! However, I don't have as much time for this as I would like, in that it must compete with other fun activities that I enjoy, such as doing faceplants onto dirty asphalt parking lots.

I've never checked, but I'm sure you can find fetish sites on the intarweb where you can meet people with the same freakish fantasies as yourself :)

I like to put hotsauce on my nuts sometimes. Sometimes I like Tabasco, sometimes I like Franks's Red Hot. Sometimes I even go with a variety of habenero to get my eyes watering at the same time. It's a painful and completely unnecessary excercise but every few months I like to do it just for the heck of it. Any of you guys do this too or am I wierd as well?

One night, I had an overpowering urge to get up and reinstall Windows on my working PC.

Then I shifted in my chair, pushed a little, and the feeling went away. :p
