I still can't believe that the vast majority of the public believes that the Bushie was "elected" democratically.
Florida(people denied their voting rights falsely)

Also, I really love the "if you don't support the war your're not a patriot".....I believe many would have something to say about how one defines themelves under those terms.

Run on sweet lemmings the ocean will come soon and it is right infront of you...

Yes I' ranting but, how can I not be pissed off when our democracy has been flushed down the toilet.
Find your own freaking links that verify everything you want to hear because you shall get none from me today.

How has democracy gone down the toilet? Bush was voted in, they counted the votes a zillion times. The democrats lost. Too bad so sad. Don't cry about it now and say that democracy has been ruined as a result. In fact, right-wing countries are usually the finest examples of democracy. Left-wing policies are much closer to communism, just FYI.

Two facts about what happened:
Katherine Harris Bush election campaign official AND the person in charge of Florida elections got authorization from Jeb Bush to scrub the list of any felons voting and scrub them off the list. Problem is; up to 26,000 blacks were accidently "scrubbed" off the list. 90% of the blacks in Florida happen to be Democrats.

Second, the Supreme Court stepped in and ORDERED Florida to stop the recount at 500 in favor of Bush something.

And where the f do you get the fact that right wing countries are the finest examples of democracy? Out of your ass?

Britain, German, France, Japan, Canada are so much more socialist than us it's not even funny. You want a right wing country go live in Iran. I hear we're supporting the "liberal" fraction hoping they'll coup the Religious zealot "conservatives" in power.

You obviously don't know much about political systems. I'm not saying that right-wing countries are any "finer" than left-wing countries, but they ARE better examples of democracy. A very socialist country will tax the rich so heavily that they make almost the same amount of money as a poor person. That is very close to communism and does not exemplify democracy. To say otherwise is simply ignorant.

Name all those right wing countries who are better examples of democracy than Britain, German, France, Japan, or Canada, sMiLeYz apt examples of prominent democracies that are ALL far more socialist than we are.

Hell, name one.

1. Democracy has nothing to do with capitalism. Choose your own position on economics and on government, but realize that in general the two can be mixed and matched to a great extent.

2. T'hey' did not perform anything like a proper recount even once, let alone a zillion times.

3. None of that matters now, because you folk have a chance to decide again in november.

Had a chance to present this in court. The democrats didnt and lost. Get over it.

And liberal tabloid newspapers went through the ballots and Bush would have won even if they used Gores system of determining a vote. Get over it.

Do you have any clue on how presidents are elected in this country?

he was elected democractically. Would you have rather Gore was elected by the court system than by the people?

The USA is a better example of democracy than all of those countries IMO. Extreme socialism is approaching communism, no matter how you slice it.

LOL, you really are naive. No, it isn't that simple, the current government has been pushing for larger government, a distinct communistic trait.

The USA is not capitalistic, anyone who claims that should read up on the different systems, and there are plenty of countries that are MORE democratic where the people get to decide directly instead of an electoral collage.

Actually, pretty much the entire world is more democratic.

Ahhh...the flamebait poster. I'm surprised I've spent this long "discussing" anything with the likes of you. Instead of actually rebutting what I say with something intelligent, you continually flame and insult me. I guess that simply states that you are not intelligent enough to have this conversation in the first place. Get bent.

From a strict dictionary definintion standpoint, you're right, countries like Canada are every bit as democratic as the USA. The point I have been trying to make is that places like Canada are also Socialism-laden, and if that sort of thing gets out of control and takes over you'll end up with a Communist state.

Further proof that you can't carry a respectful, intelligent discussion. I'm old enough to be a university graduate who is probably much more successful and knowledgeable than you claim to be.

Sigh........what are they teaching kids today anyway?

SicklyBeast, even though Republicans do have control over the legislative and executive branches of government, that does not mean that the system of government that is practiced is "right wing". We are still a representative republic with very significant socalist bent.

Hell, one could say that the occupant of the white house is about as left wing as a right winger can get..........

Maybe. I'm not even American. I do have a pretty solid understanding of politics north of the border. Most Canadians view America as a right-wing country, even when the Democrats are in power.
