If she doesn't want to say it, she shouldn't have to say it.

And maybe her parents/grandparents are Nazis that fled to Vietnam after WWII., then to Iraq and finally came to the US in the mid-90's?
So why should she respect what you grandparents/parents fought for?

not just my grandparents, but the hundreds of thousands of men who have DIED to preserve her freedoms, and thats how they get repayed?
Better repaid like that than repaid as you are repaying them, by limiting freedom.

you really think so?

So you want to take away the FREEDOM that all the SOLDIERS DIED FOR???????????? You really are dense......

EDIT: HELL YEAH it is limiting freedom. It is forcing someone to do something they do not agree with. The person could be making their protest by not saying the Pledge but of course you don't want people to have that freedom.

Ever heard of Freedom of Expression!!!!!!

If your biggest problem is worrying about whether some chick stands up for the pledge or not, I envy you.

Its a free country, as much as i disagree with it, she has every right to.

and where did i say it wasnt limiting freedom??? read more carefully. and if i think everyone should at least stand up, you dont have to say it, but stand up for the pledge is limiting for freedom, then i guess im for limiting freedoms

limiting freedom??? so you want un-limited freedom? anarchy eh?
Way to go off on a limb there. The core belief of our country is that a person is free to do whatever he pleases so long as his actions do not infringe on the freedoms of others. She is not infringing on anyone else's freedom by sitting. YOU WOULD BE LIMITING HER FREEDOM BY FORCING HER TO STAND!

I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United States of America. And to the Republic for which it stands, one nation,[ ] indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

There. I said it the way we did when I was in school. I like it better that way.

i thought the whole idea of freedom was to be FREE, eg. FREE TO NOT DO CRAP LIKE THAT

it's great that you have a national sense of pride, but it is NOT your place to force your pride onto others. leave her alone or GTFOH. i can't think of anything more un-american than forcing people to do things.

I agree that she is under no obligation to say anything, but she's a bi@tch if she's too lazy to respect all the men and women that fought and is still fighting for her right to not say anything.

nick, you should change the title if you don't want people to get the wrong impression.

You've listened to nothing we've said. No-one here embraces her decision. However, we're wise enough to embrace her freedom to make that decision. Just because you want to piss away the freedom all those men have died for doesn't mean the rest of us do too.

You are a f'ing idiot. I swear. If you haven't already read my posts do it and if you have, read them again. Do I stand up each and every time? Yes. Would I die for someone's freedom to not stand up? Hell yes.

Is this country the greatest in the world? Yes.

Their ability to not stand up and say it is what makes this country great.

You need to read some history and read the Constitution of this great country.

Hey... people. Stop ripping this guy a new one. None of you seem to be able to read... he doesn't want to force her to say the pledge, he's saying that it's disrespectful for her to not at least stand up. Yeah, you aren't going to be able to force anybody to do anyhting, that's why our country is great. But disrespecting the flag is also disrepsecting all those who died to give her the right not to say the pledge. It's disrespecting those who die every day in the service of our country.

Jeeze.. you guys need to slow down and read a little.

The Supreme Court of the USA has already ruled that it is NOT mandatory to stand or salute the flag.

That girl is not disrespecting the flag by sitting - likely her religon or conscience forbids her from saluting the flag or saying the Pledge.

And she has a lot of "conviction" to sit while EVERYBODY ELSE is standing.
