I have had my Grade A for almost 2 weeks now. It shipped quickly and came with the power cord and vga cable. There is very slight yellowing of the case noticeable only because of the previous placement of an inventory tag on the lower corner causing a slightly brighter spot. There is also a small splotchy area on the lower right corner of the screen. I agree with an earlier poster that this is probably damage to the anti-glare coating due to improper cleaning. However, this is barely noticeable with the monitor off and is completely unnoticeable with the monitor on. It takes up only slightly more desktop space than the 17" Samsung it replaced. Picture quality is excellent and the settings required no adjustment on my part other than horizontal and vertical placement and sizing. The color select was set to No. 4 and the brightness at 44. I'm only mentioning this because it seemed to be a concern or problem for some earlier posters. Overall I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend Allthingstech. Oh and I almost forgot, the display is HUGE! Seventeen inch monitors look tiny now.

i want to buy one these but have 2 dumb questions:

1. it's out of stock but it looks like you can order it still on the page. so if i order it now will this ensure i get one once the next batch comes in or should i just wait til more come in first?

2. this thing weighs 61 pounds. i looked at my computer desk's instructions and it recommends not putting anything over 35 pounds on any 1 shelf. my current monitor weighs about 43 pounds though, so am i risking having this thing breaking by adding another ~18 pounds to it? i'm scared, hold me.

1) call them directly and find out @ (507) 929-3650 or e-mail them at sales@allthingstech.com

2) find something or a few things that weigh 60 lbs and put it on ur desk.
See if it breaks:p

I rarely ever post in the AT forums, but my experience with this guy has urged me to say something.

After reading the encouraging experiences of the various ATers that have bought from this guy, I vendured forward and purchased the Grade A refurb. Being a conservative buyer, I usually dislike and distrust refurbs, but the price difference here was too great to ignore.

Anyway, when I finally received the monitor (which came super-fast), I plugged it in to my computer. I also have a Nokia (445X Pro, I believe?) that I purchased from Costco a while back. At first impression, the monitor seemed a tad dark, even on the brighest settings when compared to the Nokia. Also, the color temperature was a bit too warm, leaving traces of yellow & red in my lighter areas. When I bumped up the resolution & refresh (1280x1024@85), I reached to adjust the hsize and vsize -- and I thought "oh sh*t." The buttons were sunken into the monitor and pressing on them had no efect.

I immediately emailed the company, demanding that they either ship me another item, or a complete refund for the defective unit. I was a bit surprised when they replied that they would ship another monitor to me right away, without any delay or extra charge to me. I recieved the second monitor in less than a week, and I'm pleased to say that I works great! The brightness is still a bit dim, even in a dark room -- though the color temperature of my second monitor is fine. For the very picky people, tweaking the output a little on your graphics card, or using powerstrip, will make this monitor really shine! The casing on the monitor has no visible damage, and although it is a tad yellowed, it shows that they at least cleaned the monitor thoroughly. UPS will be by to pick up the defective monitor on Tuesday -- and overall I'm very satisfied with not only the product; but the company's eloqueny and quick responses, and attention to their customers. For $180, you really can't get any better....mad props to the company.

Just got my Grade A and it is sweet! the Airborne lady dropped it once she got into the office and the floor shook! But it was packaged well so it's ok. Looks new except for a few little black marks on the back. It took 3 business days for it to get here. Thanks Homer J! Now I can sell my 19" POS!

Got it today. It is massive. The box was as big as a TV box, and when they say 71lbs, they mean it. :) So far I haven't seen anything on the casing/screen that would tell me it is refurbished. The picture is nice and clear as well.

When I first turned it on however, it almost scared me to death. Add to the anticipation of it working and everything the fact that when it turns on it makes quite a loud noise. I guess the noise is pretty much like any other monitor turning on--but just amplified by about 3X. Nothing wrong with this though, since I always leave the monitor on anyway and I don't mind the sound.

I'm running it at 1600x1200x32bitx70hz right now. 75hz is available at this res, but the screen was flickering a bit too much. What does that mean anyway if it flickers? Just wish 1920x1440 was available (/me likes my res as tiny as possible), but 1600x1200 is more than adequate I guess.

LOL. This monitor does an automatic degauss when you power it up. The loud noise is normal.

I don't know if I'm getting greedy or whatnot but People seem to not be having any problem at all getting their Monitors replaced. Mine came with a crack in the back and yellow on the top, it's been over a month but do you think I can get it replaced?

Homer, you going to get any more of the Grade A ones in stock? Building a video editing PC now and a 21" would sure be nice!

Thanks in advance!

Anyone here get a grade B one? Can you comment on it's quality?

I ordered one a week or so ago, and it arrived on thursday. Great monitor with crisp graphics, excellent replacement for my dying Samsung. It might even be TOO big! ;)

i just ordered one (there was 2 left), can't wait til it arrives. if possible please make sure i get one with a good image/screen. :) for people who live in california you'll have to pay an extra $13 for tax like i did, but it's still a good deal.
