I hope its a good monitor since its a graduation present for someone going into graphic design.

Ok, I finally gave in. They have Grade A's back in stock and, after reading all the glowing comments about these monitor and the customer service, I decided to take a chance on one. I only hope I have as much luck as some of the others seem to be having. (C'mon Homer, I'll give ya a big shout out if you hook me up). This is my first post to the forum but I will keep you all informed.

I ordered one of the grade A monitors on June 2. I received it June 10. It is in near-perfect condition. It is difficult to tell that it is not brand new. The display is excellent. Best of all, it does not take up that much more space on my desk than my old 17 inch monitor.

I highly recommend this monitor to anyone who needs more screen real estate, but do not want to give up more desk space (and cannot afford a 21 inch LCD).

WOW! I ordered my Monitor on 6/13 and it arrived today. Three day delivery, over the weekend, for $8!! I can't wait to get home and try it out. I have had a report that the box is a bit battered but from reading this thread from the beginning I see that this is not out of the ordinary. I will let everyone (or anyone, if there is still anyone reading this thread) know how it goes.

Please do because I am seriously considering ordering one.

Does anyone know how much these things weigh?

The monitor itself weighs 61 lbs. Shipping weight is 70 lbs.

I can't speak from experience, but from reading the thread it seems a bit more hit and miss. Some people have said that their Grade "B" was barely distinguishable from a new monitor while others have reported some minor defects both with the screen and the case. Overall, I would say that with as good a deal as this seems to be anyway you might as well shell out the additional $20 and get the Grade "A".

I picked up the last grade A yesterday. I've followed this thread for some time and couldn't resist any longer. Now, how to explain this to the wife?

Ordered sunday and received today.

Went home for lunch to check it out.

Cosmetic blemishes and honestly it looks like it's seen some sun exposure and use, but the picture quality is good.

It's replacing a 19" Samsung Syncmaster flatscreen, honestly the Samsung has better color depth and is crisper, but it's not 21" now is it. :)

EXCELLENT VALUE for the price, and the company is topnotch as far as shipping, billing, order processing IMO.

I just received mine today. I ordered a grade "A". I'm kinda dissapointed in the condition of the screen. It has very visible "splotchy" marks on it. Much more noticable when monitor is off. It looks like someone used something to clean it with that damaged the anti-glare coating. Woudn't this automatically qualify it for grade "B"?? I'm not sure what qualifies for a grade "A" vs. "B".

Hmm, I see that this thread is back.

For some reason, my 21" monster monitor seems to get slightly brighter and darker. If I leave the monitor on and displaying something for about an hour, it seems to be a bit brigher than when I just turned it on. It has otherwise been a solid monitor, I don't even notice the curvature anymore, and I adjusted the R-G-B so that the noticeable green cast that it has at default color settings is much less noticeable.

I would argue it's the best $200 I've ever spent on computer stuff.

I am looking foor that nice, cheap 21" monitor and I came across this Dell monitor at Techbar*****(ridiculous) for $229 with a trinitron screen for $229 refurbished, of course. Any comments?

Outpost.com

Be prepared for an additional $30 to $40 added for shipping (Ground Delivery, via Airborne Express). $37.14 to Nyc, versus $7.99 shipping from Allthingstech.com. End result yields $188 with shipping v. $259 to $269 with shipping. Tax is also added via Outpost.com for those living in AZ, CA, CT, OH, TX and NV.

Uncertain if you can make any sort of fair comparison for that price difference.

As for the Hitachi monitors from AllthingsTech, I can attest to the quality of several "Grade A" units (one ordered myself, as well as heard/seen those orderd by several colleagues). They are quite excellent. The one I received appeared new in every regard. Those I have spoken with that I put onto this deal report very similar results, and all have been extremely satisfied.

Also, as I am certain you can read throughout this post, the customer service provided by Allthingstech is exemplary.

Do hope this helps.

w00t! Just bought a grade A. I was intending to buy one yesterday when there were 2 left, and was about to order but then realised they went OOS while I was deliberating. :/ Luckily, they got another shipment today. Can't wait to get it. Will report back when it comes.
