i got their note that mine was being shipped the same day my sister emailed me that she had recieved it...but , she opened it , pluged it in and it keeps blowing the circuit breaker in her house ..

ismellsmoke,

you have to admit that's funny even thought its really not. especially after all of the posts about the teeny power supply. i can imagine your sister plugging it in, the breaker blows. while sitting there in the dark thinking about what just happened, she sniffs, then says "what's that, i smell smoke". and of course you say, "i'm right here."

HAHAHA....At least we still have our sense of humor . She fed-ex'ed it to me today , i'll get it wed, and see why ..she smells smoke
i'll keep everyOne updated on my adventure with .."THE BARGAIN COMPUTER"

We got our shipping confirmation yesterday (friday). My wife didn't check her email until this afternoon (saturday). They say it shipped friday evening.

Its here. Arrived around noon Tuesday.

So far so good. We got 8.4GB HD, but only a 400 Celery. It looks absolutely new. I have not yet taken it apart. Keyboard is ok, low quality, but I've seen far worse. It has suspend, wake, and power buttons on the keyboard. Mouse feels and works better than it looks.

Assuming this thing doesn't fry before we take it to the class, it was definitely a good deal.

Hope everyone else gets theirs soon.

Got mine today, and it had a Celeron 466, 8GB disk and 48x CD-ROM drive!!😀

Plus it came with two DIFFERENT little blue rebate forms.

One of them asks you to do the following:

1) Submit the original serial number from the back of the computer.
2) Include the original invoice receipt.
3) Mail to <address>
4) Complete: <Your name, address, etc.>

The other &quot;little blue rebate form&quot; asks for the following:

1) Complete: <Your name, address, etc.>
2) Submit the original serial number from the back of the computer.
3) Mail to <same address as other rebate form>
This form also has a number &quot;stamped&quot; on it (marking the form with a
unique number?)

So, for the second one, I don't need to send in my original (or any)
receipt. I'd like to hang on to my receipt, so hopefully I can use this form.

Which form is everyone else getting?

We got the blue rebate form that asks for name, address, and serial #.

We went ahead ordered a new one for a teacher at the school on 10/3, we got shipping confirmation on 10/4. The tracking # shows it went out the same day!

OK ! Here's the latest update on MY BARGAIN COMPUTER ....
I just got it via FED-EX from my sister in florida , remember she said it blew her circuit breaker ? Well , I had no trouble with it at all , in fact , i'm using it to post this message . It's a celeron 466 ...with 8.4 gb hhd ,windows 98se ,32 mb of memory,56k modem, and a 48X cd-rom ...keyboard , mouse and speakers . BUT ...no rebate form . Should I send them a note and ask about that or just be happy with what I got ....what do you guys think ?....ed

I also was missing my rebate form, I received an email saying they mailed a copy of one to me priority mail. If its a good copy I will make copies for those that are missing theirs. I'll post when I get it.

RE: Rebate Forms

Make sure you looked through the papers that were packed on top of the manual. I thought mine was missing too. But it was sandwiched between some of those.

Did anyone else get a mixed system like I did. 400 Celeron, 8.4GB hard drive, I never even looked at the CDROM to see what it was. Mine *looked* new, but sounds like I got one of the older systems that had the hard drive replaced.

Any non-Floridians get anything about the 3-year extended warranty with their systems?

The system came with the 1-year warranty info, but nothing about the extended warranty.

Maybe it will come with the receipt in a separate mailing?

i got an answer from my e-mail to them about my missing rebate form , they are mailing a copy of my invoice to me along with the rebate form that was missing ....great people to deal with...ed

I got my rebate form today, email them and they will send it.
no invoice though , but I don't think I need it for the rebate.
I'll make a copy for anyone that gets stuck, but it does say no reproductions are accepted so try to get one mailed to you....

Those of you FL residents who placed orders, watch your CC accounts. I was charged $299 this morning even though I didn't get the 3-year warranty. I wrote MFPC a letter requesting a credit, but if some reason they refuse I'm kinda screwed. I thought I had saved the order confirmation page to my HD, the one that specifically says $200 will be charged to my Visa account, but I looked and it's not there. Any ideas on obtaining evidence in case in comes down to a CC dispute?

I am keeping an eye on my CC too, Yello, as somehow I sneaked a 400 system in (Cookies in browser), and I'm concerned they will try to charge me the full amount, I will check my account. I may have the order page saved, if I do, I'll send it to you.

Did they charge your card before are when it shipped? I still see no auths for that on my CC.

SuperSix:

I was charged 299 as well -- can you send me a copy too thanks !!!
