I'll check for the saved HTML page when I get home..

Again... When did they charge the card? When ordered? Or when shipped?

I received my system last week, Thursday, I think. The charge was posted to my account this morning. I got this reply back:

Unfortunately, there was never a web special for pc with shipping
or three year warranty for $200.00. At the time you placed the order, the
special was: $299.00 for the price of the pc, free shipping and a $50.00 mail-in rebate.
After the rebate, the price you would be paying is $249.00. If you have
not received your $50.00 rebate, a blue mail-in form, please inform us and we can send one out to you priority mail.
For further questions about this web special or the amount charged
to your credit card, please inform us via e-mail.

Thank you for your interest,
Cynthia

I sent back another e-mail about the system being $200 and the 3-year warranty being $99, and since the 3-year warranty was not valid in FL the total cost should be $200. Maybe if enough of us remind them of this fact then they'll credit us back.

yellowperil and others,

I wouldn't think you really have anything to worry about. A company cannot let you order a system for a certain amount and then try to jack the price AFTER YOU HAVE RECEIVED IT.

That's just bad business. I don't think I would be too nice on the phone about that!

Of course it is optional now but was not at the time of purchase. I just received mine today and have not yet been charged, and I live in florida. I better not be charged $299. computer $300 - $100 instant rebate = $200 + $99 3 year warranty not available to residents of Florida

They may have pulled a fast one on us, I wasn't able to print the purchase page so I saved it , but it won't open up even in a browser.
Anyone that has the original website add saved post it on a free website like homestead and post the link so those of us disputing this thing can try to print it. Just an idea...

try changing the file type by renaming the type (ie. blu.txt, blu.asp, etc.) maybe excel 97 viewer(can be gotten for free) will open it

It doesn't look like they are going to do anything about it..... Man I am so pissed, We should bombard them with emails and calls...

Does anyone have a copy of their receipt?

Mine never mentions price..... :disgust:

Hey Ya'll ( that's southern for yous guys )...I just checked my credit card company ...I was billed for $200.00 and they are mailing me the $50.00 rebate form ......good luck ya'll .... and I got the 466mz unit .

No silly. I was in Mexico for a week and that's why I didn't reply to any posts. myfavoritepc.com charged me 299 for the pc.

(chuckle. ... ) I think He was just having a poke at you Mark.... Good one!

Ismellsmoke: Let us know when you get your actual invoice -- Thanks.... Nicolas

Sure , I'll keep everyone updated on the adventures of " my bargain computer"....I had it shipped to my sisters in florida , so I guess that's where they will send the invoice and rebate form . I'll keep ya posted.

Just checked and credit card billed $299, even though at checkout
it said that since I lived in Florida, they could not give me the
3 year warranty, so they removed the $100 and total was $199.

What a rip.
If anyone saved the page PLEASE post a link to it.

Got my invoice by mail today. It was changed to show the $299 price as well, so there goes another piece of evidence. I placed this charge on my Visa CheckCard, if there's no purchase protection on it I'm doubly screwed.

Good News!!!!
Sent customerservice@myfavoritepc.com this email earlier today:

I recently saw your web page, and it had a special on a PC.
The special price was $299 ($249 after $50 mail in rebate), and free
shipping, and included a 3 year warranty option priced at $100. At
checkout, the web page said that since I lived in Florida, the 3 year
option was not available, and the $100 would be deducted from the
total. The web site then said my new total for this package would
be $199 with free shipping.

I told dozens of people about this deal, and they all saw the exact
same thing when they ordered the PC. Final cost for Florida residents
of $199 before $50 rebate, due too 3 year warranty not being available.

Imagine my shock when a charge shows up on my credit card for $299.

Please credit my card for the $100 overcharge, as I did not order the unit
as I received it for $299, but instead the package I received was priced at
$199 upon checkout.

I am sure you are well aware of this problem by now, as it looks like
100's of people were charged incorrectly on this item, based on forums
around the internet. This fact alone must prove that you did indeed make
an error. 1 or 2 people with a mistake maybe, but when you do it to 100's
of customers, it is hard to ignore the fact that you screwed up on billing.

Thanks

They just sent me this:

Dear Customer,

We do apologize for improperly taxing you regarding the $100.00 charge
added to your credit card. We have gone into our systems and issued you a
credit for the amount. You should be receiving this on credit on your
October or November credit card statement. If not, please do let us know via
e-mail and we will resolve the issue immediately.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention and again, we do apologize.

Thank you for your interest,
Cynthia

So it looks like a Hot Deal for us once again.

The credit amt was $99, not $100. But I won't say anything 😉

Maybe I should e-mail again. I e-mailed last Friday but still no response.

UPDATE ON MY BARGAIN COMPUTER .....
I just heard from my sister in florida , they mailed my invoice and rebate form to her address , so if I get the rebate , I'll have $150.00 in MY BARGAIN COMPUTER . Remember it is a 466 with 8.4 gb hhd ...not a bad deal at all .Good luck guys , and lets keep an eye out for more deals from these folks ...they seem eager to please.

Well no dice for me!!! I am not giving up though!!!

I spoke with my operations mananger regarding this matter. The price for the refurb was $299.00 regardless of state. Florida does not get a discount due to warranty. That way we can have verification of the bill and can issue a credit for this amount. Our fax number is 614-334-1457.

I ordered on September 10th and received the "we have received your order, an order number will be sent when shipped" e-mail but nothing since then!

It seems like it would be difficult to get any joy from a CSR since I don't have an order number of any kind.

Anyone else in the same boat? What to do?

Divide..

I emailed customerservice@myfavoritepc.com, and got a quick response from some worker named "Cynthia", and it basically said they will ship it when they have it. I emailed a week later, same thing. I wonder what they will charge me, I got in on the tail-end of the deal here in FLorida.

Anyone have a screen cap of the final confirmation screen with the total? Ordered from Florida? I almost always save the web pages, forgot this time. 🙁

Likewise. I always save a screen capture of the final "invoice" and another showing the order number. Of course there *was* no screen with an order number and if I saved the screen with the total I've misplaced it. Anyone have a capture of their order that is from Florida that will post it or mail it? Thanks in advance.
