I figure its a Video Card problem that's why its posted here.

Basically when I change my resolution, come out of video games (I play my video games on a 1600x1200 resolution), or come back from sleep mode my screen is all messed but and I have to change the setting on the monitor and put my screen back in the center. It's really starting to bug me. I tried an ATI refresh rate fixer but that doesn't help.

My Specs are in my signiture.

My power looks like this:

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance. If I provided too much info sorry just wanted to be sure.

Edit: Also when I do the ATI refresh rate fixer it says it has to reset my registry so I reset it and it says so and it says to restart my PC so I do so but then when I come back and open up the program again it says the same thing and so I do it again to no avail. Could this be the problem? I really don't know what it means...

Should I unistal my Monitor drivers and then reinstal the latest ones?

Latest official version. What is it 4.12? I think thats what it is. I'm using just the control panel version not the crappy catalyst.

Just purchased maybe early December if I remember correctly.

Do you think video card or Monitor problem?

Also, thank you so much for trying to help this post has gone on HardOCP, IGN, and here and you are the first one to respond to it.

yeah well, that's because I hang out here from time to time  don't mention it btw... it IS a forum so we are free to converse as we please...

to tell you the truth I'm not sure at this point whether it is a monitor, video card, or maybe even an OS issue? Are you running Windows XP sp2?

Yes and everything is up to date. I run Spyware and Ad-aware regularly. I have spy blaster. Everything is stock so nothing is OC'd.

Could a be a phyiscal defect?

Could it be something having to do with the power?

My 3dmark 05 score is 5693 thats why I don't want to say its the video card but then I have no idea whether that has to do with anything.

What you will have to try kento is swapping out parts, if possible. By this I mean both a video card and a monitor. Isolate the problem.

try swapping out the card to try on another PC, that is the only way to know if it is a video problem... or swapping in another card.

Most newer monitors have a bunch of presets, including size and centering for various resolutions, and even for different refresh rates at the same resolution. They remember the various settings, even when you reset it after switching to another resolution or refresh rate.

Before you go nuts trying to get your drivers to take care of the problem, set all your software settings around the middle of their adjustment ranges, and use your monitor's controls for each resolution. Then, you'll only have to ask the software to touch up any slight variations, if you need to use it, at all.

Good luck. :)

Harvey what do you mean can you explain yourself more.

What is the software? Do you want me to change to every resolutions and change the settings?

It sounds like you are over complicating the whole issue of drivers, for both monitors and video...

You have your Catalyst 4.12s, done. Monitor drivers, done. Pick a refresh rate and resolution and stick with it. For games, you can change the resolution independent from whatever settings you have on your desktop. You should be able to move on to troubleshooting your problem aside from alllll that.

By "the software," I mean the adjustments you made in your drivers, either under Display Properties / Advanced / [Manufacturer's Driver Adjustments, or in whatever desktop utilities are provided.

You can make the job easier for your software by setting your monitior for the best size, positioning, color temp, etc. before you apply any tweaks with the software. To do this, start with the software at the default settings, and adjust your monitor. Then, use the driver adjustments to improve the final results. Otherwise, the drivers could be pushed beyond their limits trying to compensate for bad monitor settings.

If you bring up a new program that appears to be off in a resolution you believe you have used, before, check the monitor's own report of its setting. The new program could have called a different refresh rate. For example, if you already have a preset for 1024 x 768 @ 72 Hz, the new program could have defaulted to 1024 x 768 @ 70 Hz, which would be a new setting for the monitor, and the pic would probably be off center.

I think as long as everything is within 5% of spec (12V, 3.3V, 5V) then you are ok. It will obviously always fluctuate, sometimes a little higher or lower. Everything looks fine though - Antec is a decent power supply manufacturer - you won't find anyone singing their praises too hard but they're above generic for sure. 430W should be enough to provide decent juice to all your components. The only thing you can do to "change" your "rails and power" would be to get a new power supply.

Your system temp looks a little high (got any case fans?), but your CPU temp is comparitively low. No worries there.
