Just a personal observation. Stay away from prolonged use of high percentage concentrates. Not a fun ride when you decide to quit.
Edit: It's not the urge to smoke, it's the crazy insomnia.
I’d argue one should stay away from all commercially available cartridges/liquid concentrates of any kind, even many of those marketed as “live resin”. Stick with flower buds for minimal processing and chemical additives. Even the edibles are of questionable origin now.

The absolute worst is buying in “unregulated” states like NC without officially licensed dispensaries. The shit they sell at the gas station under farm bill exemptions can kill you—there’s a reason why some people would rather go back to pre-Farm Bill dark ages here than have shit unregulated products being sold to teens.

I gave it up decades back when I had kids and never really got into getting high other than occasionally when doing weekend rides. I've come to enjoy good whisky way more than I ever liked weed. But good whisky ain't cheep and cheap whisky ain't good. So if THC is cheap now it might be worth a try.

I'm a big advocate. Marijuana has outstanding medicinal uses, gastrointestinal relief and arthritis just to name a couple. Without complaining about my personal problems, weed has greatly helped with my wifes chemotherapy sickness, which is considerable. Reefer Sanity

Edibles are great, but sometimes it's hit or miss depending on how much (fatty) food you've already eaten before taking one. I'm still trying to figure out what's best, but I think it's generally best to have a small amount of food with a good amount of fat content, wait up to an hour, take your edible, wait another hour, then you can eat whatever.

I stopped drinking (even though I only drank twice per week) and usually take half an edible on worknights and a full one on weekend nights. It's certainly cheaper than drinking, and I sleep much better with no negative effects the next day.

And a suggestion... when you're relaxing on the couch listening to music, nothing beats Haribo gummy bears. They're incredible.

Everything in moderation because most everything can be abused.

Going to chip in here about methods of ingestion.

Edibles hit different to inhalation. They take a lot longer to take effect and they last a lot longer. You can easily over do it and you're in for a bad day if you actually have shit to do! On the other hand small doses of edibles are great for taking the edge off the day without being impaired. You just needs to know your doses. Oh, and edibles don't work for everyone. If you start with edibles I'd recommend some gummies and start off with 5mgs max. Even if you don't think that's doing anything I'd leave it at that until the next day. Then maybe try 10mg.

Inhalation. Don't be doing combustion, it's awful for your lungs and there's better methods that extract more THC. Personally I like a dry herb vape and some nice flower. You can get vapes that are a bit like a nicotine vape in that there's liquid containing THC and some fluids. Juries out on the long term safety of those but its going to be the same as nicotine vapes, it's going to be safer than smoking it. Advantage of Inhalation us that it works really quickly. Full effects probably take 10 to 15 minutes then that peak wears off pretty quickly but you'll stay high for an hour or so. Its great for a recreational effect.

I agree. My intention in pointing to your quotes was to express the idea that there are attitudes some people attain that in my opinion would not just moderate but likely eliminate and feelings of need to use drugs as a means of anesthetizing their pain. I don’t use drugs but have in the past. My desire to take them while it exists is not great enough for me to go through the effort required to procure them. I would prefer people look to therapy to solve existential issues. Moderation absent avoidance or even with it if consciously aware that the reason is fine by me.

The problem I see is that people seem to do what they do unconscious of the feelings that motivate them. That won’t be addresses without some prompting of some kind to look.

It's also not really the same thing compared to a Delta-9 high. The liver changes it to a different buzz which I just have no appreciation for. As usual YRMV.

You really should not. You do NOT want to be opening your mind.

I actually smiled when I read this. You have this little pretend version of me running around in your head without the vaguest notion about who or what I am. It's both adorable and a little disturbing.

Never got into edibles, I love that when you smoke it it hits fast. Definitely miss the chronic I used to smoke when I lived in LA. After the first time I hit that shit I immediately thought no wonder Dre made an album dedicated to this lol.

I miss the days of Zap Comix and Mr. Natural! Mr. Natural is the MAN! Keep on truckin'!!

Anyway . . . I don't care what Trump did about re-scheduling Mary Jane. But I've had a rough day, and I walked 1.5 miles for exercise, ate a big burrito and a tamale, and I'm going to pop open a brewsky and hit the vaping pen while I watch something other than the goddam Trump news.

I did 2 miles on a new path yesterday. Absolutely beautiful path through the forest that loops through a city park. Going to walk it again this morning then paint the last 4 white doors in my house.
