Reefer Sanity

Glad to see he has a soft spot for criminals. Maybe he saw it like issuing himself a pardon. Next up, a law that makes folk with bone spurs generals. The private prison industry must be overjoyed.

Well, it's better than nothing, probably not a sufficient distraction from all the other shit though, since it's just a rescheduling.

I thought it was already downgraded before Trump. So another Trump the arson/firefighter move?
Even a stopped clock...? Opiate of the masses?

It was long overdue. Grass never belonged in the same category with heroin.

Just a personal observation. Stay away from prolonged use of high percentage concentrates. Not a fun ride when you decide to quit.
Edit: It's not the urge to smoke, it's the crazy insomnia.

I can't even imagine what those are like, even as a long-time smoker the current "standard" strength flower is more than powerful enough for me and I blend it down with a 1:1 CBD:THC flower.

Better living through chemistry! And I love the fact that, even in pro-weed states, the "alternative market" remains alive and well!

No, the Biden administration didn’t get the job done. If they had, we might have avoided the second Trump term.
Biden initiated the process but Republicans blocked and fought it the whole way. They were even slow-rolling it after Trump took over until he flat-out told them to get it done. As I understand it there is still a lot more left to the process.

I use 90% vapes all the time and don't experience any insomnia on days when I don't use any.

I'm fucking stoned as hell right now. And I don't get too stoned too often, but fuck it, let's celebrate the single on purpose good thing Trump has ever done in his life, or will ever do in his life.

You never know what monsters lie sleeping within the deep that some Willie Nelly drug injection might release, unleashing also among the politically conservatives some fantastically irrational negative permissive liberal backlash. Only Republicans can work trade deals with China or open Pandora’ Box.

Rescheduling is an administrative process and the Republicans had no say. It was a case that Biden was old school and didn’t really want to reschedule it.

How about more than 4 days, that's when it kicks in. I went cold turkey on March 6, the last wax I had was 98.20%, and cost only $8.50 gram, @ legal state store. Sleep is still irregular.

I don't have time to do a deep dive on this but here, from google ai:

Yes, the Biden administration initiated the process to reschedule marijuana from a Schedule I to a Schedule III drug, a move formally proposed by the Justice Department in May 2024. This action aims to recognize medical use and lower the risk profile, moving it away from categories with no currently accepted medical use.
Department of Justice (.gov)Department of Justice (.gov) +2
Key Aspects of the Biden Administration's Actions:
  • Initial Move (2022): In October 2022, President Biden directed the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) to review marijuana's scheduling under the Controlled Substances Act.
  • HHS Recommendation (2023): In August 2023, HHS recommended to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) that marijuana be moved to Schedule III.
  • Proposed Rule (2024): In May 2024, the Justice Department submitted a formal proposal to reclassify marijuana to Schedule III.
  • Status of the Process: The DEA scheduled a hearing on this proposal for early 2025, but this was postponed due to ongoing legal reviews shortly before the administration ended.
Let me know if that last bullet is wrong in some way. It lines up with what I read elsewhere: that Republicans were pushing legal challenges to bog down the process beyond the end of Biden's term.

I’ve been vaping high% THC Indica and Indica-leaning hybrids since 2015. I had a card in CT.

I never had any type of withdrawal after abstaining for 7 to 8 days due to different hospitalizations, Covid, the flu, and the common cold.

edit: Totally anecdotal. I use the vape as it totally shuts down any unwanted G.I. spasticity due to my MS. At night in bed, it will totally couch lock me. That’s the complete opposite of insomnia. Lol.

Is this shit cheap now? If it's cheaper than whisky I might give it a try. Though it couldn't be a vape as that's an addiction I'd rather not revisit. Anything requiring inhalation is off the table. I abused the shit out of my lungs for 45 years and somehow don't have lung cancer yet, and I'd really like to keep it that way.

There are edibles that don't require putting any volatile organic compounds into your lungs. Gummies, chocolates, mints, pills, sparkling water, sodas, etc. You just need to be extra careful in the dosage with edibles as they take time for full effects. Of course, OD'ing on THC just means anxiety and couchlock for 6-8 hours since it's one of the safest chemicals that exist.

I suppose whether it's cheaper than whiskey depends what whiskey you're buying and how many "servings" you consider that whiskey bottle. I suppose I might say they're roughly comparable in price, but there's a lot of variables.
It's also super easy to make your own edibles if you're not fussy, with some flower, peanut butter, and crackers.
