Red Tails (2012) Trailer

Figures. They case a white man as their superior officer. Typical Anglo-racist bullshit.

Terence Howard is a colonel in this movie. He would be reporting to a general. Howard is the superior officer to the unit. If this movie is well done, I'm sure Lee will like it.

If this movie indeed has awesome TA-TATATA-TATATATA-TA aerial sequences, I'll definitely watch it. Given the cast, I'm expecting the non-action scenes to be overwrought & corny (I loath cuba gooding jr. & don't much like Howard). But, if the action is awesome enough, it may counterbalance the schmaltz.

The Tuskegee Airmen (HBO movie) was actually pretty good IMHO. Hopefully this movie will take it up a notch. The production values are better if nothing else.

One thing has me worried though, that trailer makes it sound like all the other fighter pilots in WWII did a crappy job and the Red Tails saved the day. Maybe it was just the way the trailer was cut, guess we will see.

I thought Jeebus was making a funny about Terrance Howard not being black enough (in Spike Lee's eyes)

anyway, that's a metric ass-load of CGI, but it doesn't look horrible in that add (shocking).

But it looks good enough--typical cloying Hollywood drama, but still.

I've always liked Terrance Howard. He's always looked like a 1940s-50s black guy. :hmm:
