I'm not sure if they ever fixed the balance issues, or will even bother to. There was a stigma going around that Tripwire has a massive hard-on for the Germans, which is why their weapons were totally overpowered compared to the Russians. Yes, I understand that they're trying to be "realistic"; but it really needs to be balanced for the sake of being balanced. When I play RO2 with my friends, we always go Allies, and we always end up being really goddamned frustrated because Allies have the inferior weapons, and end up getting slaughtered more often than not.

Well if the weaponry is going to favor the Germans maybe they should get a "Russian Winter" debuff so they have a smaller sprint bar, move slower and bleed out faster.

Yeah, I mean, there's a few servers that show up with 20-30+ people in them, however they all have pings in excess of 150ms from here in Seattle. It's a damn shame too. The game has a few bugs and weird things here and there, but it's still fun to play. Now it's not even playable for me considering there aren't any lag free populated servers.

Oops, I forgot to mention something: Try using Steam's built-in server browser instead.

So, rather than launching the game and looking for servers, hold off. Right-click on the Steam icon in your taskbar (or go to View > Servers). At the bottom of the server window, click "Change Filters". Change it so it shows "Red Orchestra 2" servers only.

From there, you may sort the server results however you like. Try sorting by Players" starting with the greatest, and go down. Or you can try sorting by "Latency". I hear people have better luck finding servers this way.

When I do it, I see 4 or 5 servers that are completely full (unfortunately the ping is around 100-200). There are a half dozen or so servers that are half full. Let me know what results you get.

In addition to the bugs on release, some of the design decisions weren't that great IMO. It plays differently (and IMO worse) than RO1 did.

I'll give that a shot. Those pings look like what I was seeing yesterday. Out of that screenshot, I'd honestly only consider joining the two pings under 110... but even that isn't exactly good. Is there some issue with this game and pings?

I don't know :\ That screenshot was actually taken on my work computer, but my home computer gets about the same pings. Maybe it's just because there aren't any servers sufficiently close to where I live. You and I might be in the same situation.

Come to think of it, I bet most of those are probably European servers.

there is a ping issue with high player number servers..it varies from server to server..but the more players you get the more your ping goes up and it gets fairly high..a server that i can get 80-90 ping on will go up to 150-160 as it gets full
