I need a buddy in nyc to take turns asking the waitress over. Who's with me?
All the great restaurants in this city, and you're going to Red Lobster. I just don't get it.

Sir, I would be much obliged if you would point me in the direction nearest where I can stuff my face without food poisoning or buffets where old ladies stick their fingers in. All for $18.xx plus tip. :)
Don't know. I don't usually eat at "stuff your face" type places.

i went a few weeks ago. it was $14.99 or $15.99. i had 2 plates of the popcorn shrimp and 1 order of the fried shrimp.

at the end, i wasn't really full, i just didn't feel like eating shrimp anymore.

the first time i went i stupidly stuffed myself with the cheddar rolls and a bowl of NE clam chowder and a salad. i ended up not being able to finish the first plate and the waitress felt so bad she went against policy and let me take a plate of the fried shrimp to go.

Ok, I lied. I go to Yama occasionally. Cheaper than Funayama and closer for me.

Usually around here your first plate comes within 15 minutes and then each plate you ask for after that takes 30 minutes. They discourage eating all you can by wasting as much time as possible. I guess that's to be expected from "The Pizza Hut of Seafood"

Hey! That's the perfect way to describe Red Lobster:
"The Pizza Hut of Seafood"
I like that :)
Now I know how to phrase it to friends when they suggest going there. Rather than my usual longer explanation, I can just roll my eyes and say, "you really want to go to the Pizza Hut of seafood? "

LOL! I was going to use "The McDonald's of Seafood" but I realized that actually refers to Long John Silvers...Red Lobster is *SLIGHTLY* more high class!

I don't know about their shrimp, but their lunch chicken tenders are pretty darn good, and they give you alot for the money.
