they should get these cameras on some stop signs... the roll-action through them is not acceptable by any means... not even an attempt.

Yeah, you definitely did not come to a complete stop. No way you were out of the frame in one second looking at those time stamps. It would have taken longer than a second to come to a complete stop, then start moving again and make the turn. Even in a Corvette. You got caught rich boy. Now pay your 50 bucks!

Exactly. There's no way the car could disappear that quick from the camera view in a little over a second if he completely stopped and then made the turn.

Geez, do you guys ever read the entire thread before posting?

He stopped before the bike sign. He then drove forward and took a right. The camera got him after he stopped and moved forward.

Could he have ran it? sure, but based on his description of the events, he was clear.

Will a judge believe it? Probably not. If there's no points, just pay the fine and chalk it up to experience.

Try again.

If you look you will see a bike sign. I stop at that as bikes come from that part usually on warm days. I then pull up and yeild and take off.
I ride bike so i know the paths in cary so I always stop before that.

Which doesn't change what the law is at all.

If I stop 7 feet before a stop sign, and proceed to role through it when I come up to it, I am in fact guilty of running a stop sign.

Same thing applies in this scenario.

I think that's a load of BS, honestly. The bike sign doesn't mean "bikes cross at exactly this spot." I don't think people ride their bikes through the grass on the side of the road and then cross the road 15 feet from the the intersection rather than at the intersection. I don't even see a bike path in that picture, which means the bike route indicated by the sign is probably part of the road.

Alright lets say he stopped before the bike sign. That's still not stopping AT the red light. That's stopping at the bike sign. You have to be at the intersection when you make your stop. Do you normally stop 4 car lengths from the intersection when you are making your right on red turns? If you do, you will be getting a ticket son yourself. 4 car lengths from the intersection you can't see oncoming traffic in the intersection and therefor have not verified it is safe and practicable to execute the turn. Sorry, but anyway you slice it, he earned that ticket.

4 Car lengths != 4 feet. Thus, your argument stinks.
