did you make a complete stop before turning right on red?

The pictures on the notice say "Vehicle Speed: 15 MPH"
If that's referring to the OP's car, it doesn't sound like he stopped.

Really? notice my brake lights are on in the first pic and also the 2nd picture that has NO CAR still says I am going 15mph? What is it measuring if I am not even in the picture?

I see that now. OP ran a red light.

I was just about to post that too. Doesn't look like he made a complete stop.

ATOT video analysis wins again!

Possibly your lowest speed while going through the intersection? Did you come to a complete stop or not?

Not that I care if the OP gets a ticket or not, nor do I think you should get a ticket if you slow down enough to reasonably look for traffic, but don't come here and try to BS us.

Good eye. There's no way you can do a full stop and then complete a right turn in that 1.42 seconds unless he rolled through that red.

A nice 15 mph roll at that!

quick, some geek calculate the velocity of the vehicle from distance and time lapse in a CSI fashion.

I'd say 15 mph. 😀

Kind of tough to calculate since it's not in the second picture.

Try again.

If you look you will see a bike sign. I stop at that as bikes come from that part usually on warm days. I then pull up and yeild and take off.
I ride bike so i know the paths in cary so I always stop before that.

Okay, but how the hell do you explain the 15MPH and being able to get out of that intersection in 1 second from a full stop?

well he is driving a corvette! he just floored it!

When I first read your post, I thought you were thinking outloud about how to scam or get away from the ticket, when you had indeed run the red. Then I raelized that you really did make the right turn. Did you completely stop? If so, and turned right, it's legal.

OK, so explain the 15MPH reading. Also I do not see your break lights in any pic (pic may just be too blurry). That third pic was likely taken at the same time as the first, and clearly there are no break lights on.

Whether he didn't stop or not, tickets by camera suck ass.

Shame on any American condoning this.

Wow I actualy agree with you on something.

Red light camera use came up as a possibility briefly in NH once....it was voted off the floor before the ink was dry.

To the people who says he rolled through it, maybe he did. If so, then technically he broke the law. However, it's obvious from that pic that traffic was turning in both directions, so the oncoming traffic he should supposedly be coming to a complete stop for, are already sitting at a red light. Simple petty crap like this is nothing more than a revenue generator...

They can not give you a ticket for turning RIGHT in a right turn lane under red. Granted it does not say "no right on red" I did the same thing and got the red light camera pictures and ticket. Two weeks after that They sent in an apology letter in the mail saying it was a camera malfunction and they had to reinburish $$ to those who paid.

I came to a complete stop (picture shows be braking at the line from the back). Then it shows me taking the right turn under red.

reinburish?

my god....
