Will need diameter of Momma Cozzi pizza before venturing to Aldi's.

I do get the Red Baron frozen pizza (purple deluxe, the one without olives) when they're on sale. The advantage of frozen over the good Doctor's suggestion of real French bread is that the frozen is right there in your freezer, waiting patiently for you to want it. They aren't as good as homemade, but they're good enough when you haven't planned for the need or when you have a mass of kids at the house for a sleepover.

I do make my own dough a few times a month. It's been a learning process. They're good, I have much to learn. I'm not a Doctor, or a fellow, or even a resident yet. They're always better than frozen, but they do take some planning ahead.

Are too damn expensive now! They used to be sizable, meaty, and only $2.00 for a box! Then they went to $2.50 a box, made them less sizable, and less meaty. Now they're $3.00 a box, even less sizable, even less meaty, and no included thing to cook them on! (To be fair, I was always throwing those away and it's a welcomed thing)

What the fuck. I guess I won't be eating these anymore... I had them pretty much everyday!

Red Baron had a premium $5-6 frozen one that had a card board "pan" it cooked in that was nearly as good as delivery. I wouldn't touch the $3 ones. If you need to go that cheap you might better get a Mama Cozzis pizza from Aldi's.

Store brand french bread pizzas are hard to come by. I don't see those frequently. I see big pizzas all the time but I just want single serving kind of stuff. I don't need to feed a family.

Kroger has a lot of them. my 16 year old son lives on those thing and at a buck each are cheap.

if it's not made by my favorite local restaurant no one else has ever heard of or by my own damn godlike hands, then it's crap!!
Pretty much. I wonder if these people are such hipster, picky bitches in real life or they just play one online.

Why not just stop at the grocery store, pick up a fresh baked loaf of French bread (aren't they usually about $1.50?), a can of pizza sauce, some mozzarella, and some pepperoni. Cut the bread up, mix sauce with some spices (I add basil, oregano, pepper, parsley, and garlic), add the mozz and pepperoni, and bake. Since it makes more than enough for a meal, after putting the others together, place them in the freezer. I'm guessing 2 loaves of bread ought to be about right for 1 can of sauce (so you don't have any waste), and in the end, it'll work out to about the same price or less than crappy frozen food.

humm open bag of frozen shit, put on paper towel and nuke for 1.3 min and enjoy.

or

spend a hour in the kitchen, mess up a bunch of shit that needs cleaned and wait...

ill take the frozen shit.

**I cook a lot and pretty decent at it, but sometimes i just dont want to.

Your God "convenience" requires too much sacrifice. I'll keep my chemical abuse out of the food I eat thank you.

This thread is incredibly sad.

It doesn't take that much effort to make a homemade pizza far, far better than that frozen garbage.

The solution I found was to buy a typical pizza and then split it in half. Used to take a knife to it and try to saw through the pizza. Gave up on that. I just slam it on the edge of the counter and it usually splits pretty decently. I do this before taking it out of the plastic wrap so that the toppings stay on.

It costs slightly more in some ways but you get more per serving which offsets it in my opinion.

Solution to what, exactly?

Still the best idea I've seen, but it's not a surprise :)

Whatever it is they make on top of french bread, it ain't pizza. That's just a hell of a lot of dough, which is why many people can't stand deep dish pizza. You can put just about anything on a pizza crust - goose liver, brie and truffles - and still call it pizza. Put pizza sauce and cheese on a slice of bread, that's not pizza.

Exactly, we should always make everything from scratch, screw anything pre-made.

A bit slower is better, sometimes.
