Reconstruction projects hit milestone in Iraq

What does it even mean? New doormat for a school could be considered renovation. I frankly don't trust anything from the Pentagon. These are the same people who said we weren't using napalm in Iraq. Of course they forgot to mention we were using a substance identical in function to napalm just more environmentally friendly in their opinion. So they'll bend the truth as far as it can go.

I love Iraqi feel good threads! Thank goodness things are progressing over there so nicely. Too bad we are going to have to stay over there for another 20+ years but hey, our kids will be old enough by then to serve.

Its definately sad that they are building new roads, bridges, and schools in some third world country when we have our own infrastructure problems.

[*]The stuff that the terrorists and insurgent are blowing up is reported repeatedly on every major news outlet in this country. They don't bother going into the details about the targets, only the details about the destruction.

If there is information relevant to your request, I am sure that the information that you seek is out there to be found.

It might take a little work. Might even be hard work.

Please let us know if you find something....

Now if we can only convince the Iraqis to fight for their own freedom instead of turning tail and running off or switching sides when things get dicey we actually might accomplish something worthwhile.

Your posting history suggests otherwise, but thanks for playing.
Funny, I didn't realize that we went to war over there to rebuild stuff we blew up.

This is all fine and dandy but we did the same thing in Viet Nam and it really didn't help in the end.

While the number is important, it is the impact of those projects that is most important? said Brig. Gen. Thomas Bostick, commander of the Gulf Region Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. ?The Iraqi people are seeing progress.

All in good time. Think *Babysteps*. Over 1000 so far...

I think Red Dawn may have been referring to Kumbaya.

Has anyone done a study that compares the amount and value of infrastructure Bush has blown up in Iraq vs the amount and value of the infrastructure U.S. taxpayers paid to rebuild???

Whatever the numbers, we're paying for it all. And all for what, exactly? What's the excuse du jour for blowing up Iraq? And how do we rebuild all those dead Iraqi civilians?

Look, Bob. You can't go back in time and change things that have already come to pass. But go ahead and try, if it eases your pain .

Built in 1978 but hasn't been running for years.

I suppose we blew that up years ago

It's Bill. And I'm not trying to go back in time to change things. I'm trying to get America to hold people resoponsible for their actions. And the Bush administration hasn't been held accountable for any of the lies they told before invading Iraq or their failure to plan for the aftermath of their unnecessary invasion.

This is the accountability administration, isn't it? They hold people accountable for their actions but deny accountability for their own.

When are we going to fix our power grid? Our aging watering system? The thousands of crumbling bridges? How stupid can Americans be.

Nice for them...but on borrowed US money....that we, the taxpayers of the US, will pay back.

There you go supplanting all the happy talk with those bothersome details again.
