Recommend me a good, low cost clothes washer

And don't say Lola!

I need a low-priced washer. I found a nearly new dryer for $100, but I can't seem to find any used washers around. Larger capacity would be nice.

Roper is whirlpool's low end line. Haven't seen anything cheaper than those.

The one Roper I looked at had one cycle. Not exactly a powerhouse.

I've always had great luck with Kenmore appliances. I'm not sure who makes the washers/dryers ... however, it's guaranteed to be a rebadged top tier brand at a pretty good price. May wanna look at sears.com to see if anything sparks your eye.

umm yeah...Kenmore farms out their appliances to the lowest bidder. Great choice.

Most are made by Whirlpool. The only difference is that Kenmore will give you less features for the same price as a Whirpool.

Check the ABC Warehouse near you. They usually have good deals on cheapo appliances. 🙂

go on another cruise?

throw the dirty clothes overboard tied by a rope,to the siderails?

Buy a new washer at Best Buy,Sears Or Home Depot.

My Whirlpool was like $400.

performa is a value line from maytag. we havent had any trouble with our washer. the dryer needed 100 in repairs(labor and sevice call included) due to a heat sensor. was my fault tho, because at that time, i didnt realize that i had a kink in the exhaust hose, which caused lint build-up and the sensor to keep triggering as a fire preventive measure. live and learn.

other than that, theyve been great.

Washers and dryers are somewhat like cars, if you don't care about shine and flash you can buy good used ones for pennies on the dollar and they normally last a decade or more.

My parents bought a Maytag washer and dryer when they got married (30 years ago this June). They replaced the washer in 2000 (it hadn't died, it was just time for a new one). The dryer is still used every single day. for Maytag.
