Roper is whirlpool's low end line. Haven't seen anything cheaper than those.

I've always had great luck with Kenmore appliances. I'm not sure who makes the washers/dryers ... however, it's guaranteed to be a rebadged top tier brand at a pretty good price. May wanna look at sears.com to see if anything sparks your eye.
Check the ABC Warehouse near you. They usually have good deals on cheapo appliances. 🙂Originally posted by: iamwiz82
And don't say Lola!
I need a low-priced washer. I found a nearly new dryer for $100, but I can't seem to find any used washers around. Larger capacity would be nice.

My parents bought a Maytag washer and dryer when they got married (30 years ago this June). They replaced the washer in 2000 (it hadn't died, it was just time for a new one). The dryer is still used every single day. for Maytag.Originally posted by: ToeStub
Washers and dryers are somewhat like cars, if you don't care about shine and flash you can buy good used ones for pennies on the dollar and they normally last a decade or more.
