what is a good irish whisky for drinking on the day of st. patrick. any other good irish liquors could work also. so would irish cream be worth it?

usually i drink bourbon or canadian whisky.

you can also recommend me some good irish beer if you want

Bushmills and its several varients. Black bush is great on the rocks. Or you can get one of the aged single malts neat with a drop of water or single cube. Wayyyy better than Jamesons.

what about the difference between malt and grain or single vs blended?

Based on price to taste ratio I prefer Bushmills 10yr over most I've tried.

Blended are supposed to all taste the same. Single malts can be a bit of a dice roll; being better or worse than you expected. I haven't developed the necessary palette to really tell the difference; although all the best/memorable whiskys I've tried were single barrel.

Single malts can also be found in cask strength (~ 120 proof)

Tullamore Dew for value, BlackBush for semi premium, and RedBreast for premium. Tyrconnel if it's still made was a nice pure pot still. I also agree with Bill, Jameson eats shit. It's nice cause it's made in the republic, as opposed to to the north where Bushmills is made, but that doesn't make up for a terrible taste. I had one of Jameson's more premium versions once, and it took ~$50 to get something Busmills(or almost any other brand) gave me for $25.

Edit:
Pro tip... If you like Irish creams(they're good on ice cream and coffee), Carolans is better than Baileys, and is half the price. Don't pay for a name.

drink not very much coffee. but i do like mocha. would you say irish cream could be enjoyed by someone who usually does no drink eitehr coffee or irish cream. think9ing about irish cream and melted dark chocolate over ice cream.

No such thing as a good Irish whisky. Or even an Irish whisky.
An Irish whiskey on the other hand...

Oh yea, it's dangerously good. The alcohol's fairly low, but you do get a bit of alcohol bite. It's got a nice taste, and Carolans has some honey notes, which Baileys lacks. Even if you don't drink much coffee, you might change your mind with Irish cream in it. I think a child would like it. Sweet and tasty. I avoid sweet drinks just about always, but I really enjoy the occasional Irish cream, and even more infrequently, cream sherry.

seems bushmills has a long history in ireland. given that would give them a irish character would guessing that they have no moral questions to be had against them be right? feel like bringing up that question just brings a whole lot of problems from any side. just do not want to support any oppression.

Nah, there's no moral issues with Bushmills that I'm aware of. It's a psychological thing. If you're doing Irish Whiskey for St Paddy's day, Republican whiskey is better :^D

how about 2 gingers or merrys irish cream or harp lager?

Holy shit. You're making it hard to keep up here :^D

Never heard of the first two, but Harp is an abomination. British Isles are for ales. If you want a good lager, go just about anywhere else.

What's the goal here? Just having a fun St Paddy's day? Here's what I'd get assuming you're on a budget...

Guinness draught cans - these should be poured into a glass for the pub experience. Get some nice pub glasses.

Guinness extra stout - different from the draught. More robust, and easy to drink from the bottle.

Tullamore Dew - Irish whiskey, and best budget brand imo. Go with BlackBush for something nicer.

Carolans Irish cream - For the womenz, or for making desserts.
