I felt responsible for ordering that Lenovo laptop and not checking drivers Linux drivers support.
I did a quick look at that laptop, and I think you could get wifi going on it, but it might take some hacking, and I don't know what your operational requirements are. Eg if it's a problem running the O/S in an unsupported state, or you don't have direct access to the person if a problem arises...
