Hi

We have upgraded one of our Ubuntu user to the new Lenovo T540p laptop, but it seems like the wireless nic the came with it does not have driver support (hopefully not yet). So we decided to get him a usb wireless adapter for now.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks.

Nice find man! NCIX is local to our area, theres seem to have some stocks available close by. I just hope they are true to what they claim.

I felt responsible for ordering that Lenovo laptop and not checking drivers Linux drivers support.

I did a quick look at that laptop, and I think you could get wifi going on it, but it might take some hacking, and I don't know what your operational requirements are. Eg if it's a problem running the O/S in an unsupported state, or you don't have direct access to the person if a problem arises...

I'm not a heavy linux user, just enough to navigate through our linux base server (most of our machines are Windows though). The user works remotely 95% of the time, only in the office for meetings so I will almost never get to see his laptop.

I was going to swap the wireless nic from his broken old laptop (Dell XPS 15 L502X) but the mini pcie on the lenovo is smaller than the Dell, so it doesn't fit. Odd.

**actually the wireless nic interface may have been mSATA. Not sure, I dont have the laptop anymore.
