Did not know who she was until this thread. I thought that video she was in was some parody of a bad music video.

The only reason this song became such a youtube 'hit' is because it's so bad (particularly the lyrics, which she didn't even write). It was never a hit in the sense that a lot of people like it, although with all this exposure I'm sure she'll sell a few cds. The video is basically a big joke, and happens to be a funny one, which is the only reason it's so popular.

I highly doubt R-Black just wants to profit, maybe her parents and backers do, but she probably just wants to make some music videos. I respect that, at 13, she's done something that his put a crick in the worlds dick. I respect that, she's the first to be ridiculed, when this has been pop music for the last 15 years

Yeah, no shit, she kicked the general average age ugly fucking angst filled internet genpop right in the gonads while making money and now they are squirming all over each other each being more pathetic than the other trying to tell everyone how bad it is and how much they HATE a 13 year old girl they have no relations to...

Meanwhile, more publicity for Rebecca, more spread and you can bet your arse there are tens of millions all over the world loving her song....

Go Rebecca!

Not to critique her singing but the lyrics are just plain terrible. I don't want to hear a song that is about every little detail of your daily life, it's boring! Add to that the lyrics repeats itself over and over again like a broken radio. The comments on the Youtube video is updating so fast till I can't even read properly some of the comments when I turn on auto update.

I respect that, she's the first to be ridiculed, when this has been pop music for the last 15 years, and she's only 13.

When I was 13 I was worried about saving up enough money for a PS2, so I could get the new FF, I didn't change the world. I listened to crappy punk and raged against a machine that's long sense been replaced and updated. I can bet her parents push her to do this, and if she comes out with a video that gets any views, that's worthy.

She's easy to make fun of, the song is...bad, but somehow you can still listen to it, it still makes sense in reference to modern music, and if it's all bad, at least it's not half-bad. It didn't get millions of views because people hated it, it got millions of views because people saw it and it was easy to make fun of, while listening to it multiple times through. You had to know just how bad that chorus was, how awkward a 40 year old rapper in a video of young people is.

R-Black is art of the highest order, she says nothing of herself, just of you and your views of herself.

Well said. I actually have a lot of respect for her and how she has handled this whole situation.

The song itself is such a great commentary on the utter shit quality of pop music over the past decade, and the fact that she doesn't seem to take herself too seriously, unlike the Beibers and Mileys, makes it all the better. I hope she gets a record deal and becomes a millionaire.

She's a one hit wonder, but he's made a TON more money on 1 hit than the rest of us will ever make. If she invests properly and lives a fairly moderate lifestyle she can enjoy the rest of her life without worry of money simply b/c of 1 autotuned, overproduced pop song. Lucky

Justin Beiber loses youtube crown to Rebecca Black

The Canadian super star's YouTube channel regularly tops the monthly most viewed chart.

But the 17-year-old has been pushed into second place thanks to Rebecca's song Friday, according to new figures from Famecount.com.

Many critics have described her heavily auto-tuned track as the worst ever but it's helped her YouTube channel reach 112 million views.

Just over half a million more than Bieber's channel on the video sharing website.
But both performers are way ahead of the competition.

Yeah i hate rebecca black too, that youtube vid was awesome!!:thumbsup:

There is something about that video that makes you want to listen to it over and over and over and over and over.

To those who havent clicked on it, it is a video of pink cartoon pony (Pinky Pie) playing the trombone in a 5 second looped video that has been edited to fit the posters chosen melody (aka Youtube Poop). Its pretty good, actually, and Im not even into pink little ponies. :sneaky:

Uh...how much do you think she made from Youtube? On ABC they said "tens of thousands." I will make that in my lifetime ;)
