It clearly says on the rebate to send in the "rebate receipt."

Like I said in my earlier post, I'll pay for everything and add an additional $10 if you can get me the $20 deal.
Someone please PM me about this!

The difficulty with your request is:
a) Many BB's are already OOS on this item
b) Only 1 MIR can be redeemed per address.

You're essentially asking for someone to hunt down an MX700 for you, go through a potential PM ordeal, wait for a $30 MIR, and pass up on this deal for THEMSELVES, just to make $10 for all their efforts. I appreciate your situation, but you shouldn't be shocked that people aren't rushing to help you. If multiple MIRs could be redeemed at the same address, that would perhaps be a different story.

Your link points to a review of a different mouse: MouseMan Dual Optical instead of MX700 which doesn't have those setting options.

and hey,

Yo knuck! No one here's gonna invest extra 30 rebate buckaroos (US) and then play the two month rebate waiting game to finance you straight up buddy even if multiple MIRs could be redeemed at the same address.

so u are looking a MX700 for 30 US$ shipped to Canada ?

No crapping here, just the reality ... hmm.. let see

1. someone need to go to PO paid at least $10 postage (fully insured w/ tracking), wait in line & fill in stupid custom form and send your stuff.
2. someone have to wait 8-12 weeks and worry about 2 stupid rebates, which may mysteriously "get lost". Are u going to reimburse them ?
3. someone then get $30 for doing all stuff for you.

hmm....

Just because I'm from Canada doesn't mean I don't deserve good deals

and hello, Canada have MUCH better health care and benefits system than US,
Just because I'm from US doesn't mean I don't deserve good deals (I consider health care and beneifts the ultimate HOT DEAL)

from USPS.com quote.

The table below details the estimated cost for shipping a 2-pound, 15-ounce package to Canada with $100.00 of insurance, included at no extra charge.

Charge Description Standard Rate
Tota l $18.25

Ooops..

About a week or so. I usually put it on the charger every night . I only tested it once, out of curiousity.

Thanks for the info. That's way more than enough. I was worried if it would kick out after maybe 4-5 hours.

I went into my local BB and had no intent of getting this (I really like my intellimouse optical). By chance I went by the mouse/keyboard section to see if it was there, and there was one last box which was perfectly sealed and everything. So, as a good AT hot deal member, I had to pick it up. Living in the boonies has its advantages sometimes.

The mouse is really nice, but I think I'm going to have a hard time getting used to how heavy it is. Worse for worse I may just have to return it and go back to my Intellimouse optical which seems like a fourth of the weight. Does anyone know if there is mod to use a smaller lighter NiMH in these things? Maybe even a AAA.

Got mine at Best Buy in Santa Maria, CA. They had to ask the manager at the computer area to see if they could pricematch them like that, but in the end it was ok.

Sweet deal thanx for the heads up!

You know absolutely no one in your city trustworthy enough to keep a $30 rebate ;) ) *sob* Anyhow, I guess I'm just doomed to miss out on all these hot deals, I may as well accept it and stop trying :( ;)
I'm sure there are plenty of selfless (i.e. unselfish) people on here; however, there are limits to selflessness. If you're willing to, for example, submit the $30 MIR yourself and wait for the rebate to be mailed to YOU (be it in Canada or to a friend/family member in the US), that would increase your chances of finding somebody to help you out. As for the "1 address issue," no, I wasn' t kidding. Sure I can probably find another address to send a rebate of mine to; however, that's just another thing I have to keep track of. Should the rebate get rejected, it becomes an even bigger rebate dispute ordeal. I'm trying, as politely as I can, to explain why *I'm* unwilling to assist you with this request. Of course in my case, if you read my extremely long RANT from yesterday, you'll understand that I have no desire whatsoever to go through another BB PM ordeal.

also, anyone remember the issues this mouse had with windowxp when it first came out? i believe it had to do with the one of the buttons or wheel? anyone know what this actual problem was and whether it was fixed or not with a newer driver release? i have what seems to be the latest mouseware (mw975) drivers from the website installed and all seems to be running ok so far - just wondering really.

I think even white desktops can't compare to a good mouse pad. Cursor skips a bit here and then. A mouspad is a good idea for this mouse IMHO.

P.S. Does anyone here agree that the conversation about shipping stuff to Canada should move to where it belongs -- the f*ckin' Fat Wallet Hot Deals Forum.

Well, that was easy as pie.

I ordered the mouse online for in store pick up. This way I wouldn't waste a trip. I waited for it to say "ready for pickup" and drove to the store to get it. On my way, I got a flier from Officemax, and got some crispy creams too :). Dropped in Best Buy, paid for the item that was waiting for me at the counter and waited for my rebate receipt to print out and boom it didn't! I asked the guy, "hmmm, I thought there was a rebate on this item?". He looked into the machine and then printed one out. "Here you go, he said." So, I walked out put the stuff in the car, took the receipt to OD next door and used their copy machine to make a copy of the receipt, then walked back into BB and said "I just noticed that this OM add has the same item for $49.99. He said "no problem, we'll pricematch it". He price matched it, and gave me cash back and now I'll send in the rebate.

I haven't tried the mouse yet of course, but I'm hoping it's as responsive as people are stating. I can't risk not being top 3 in BF1942.

:)

Great Deal!

I had no trouble doing the buy and then getting the pricematch at customer service. But when I showed the OM ad to the lady at CS she only glanced at, said it's '$39.99, right' and before I could think I said sure. Before I know it she was pricematching to 39.99 and I will get the mouse for $8.60 AR!!
Can't wait to try it out.

caveman 2001...

rebates are always different for bestbuy.com and for the actual store. to be honest with you, i think you might have voided your $30 rebate by buying it online.

and one more thing guys...
there was a news bulletin sent to every department of every best buy this morning...it said the following...

"we have noticed that some stores are matching office max's price on the Logitech MX700 optical mouse. This price match is not necessary, as that is why we have the $30 mail in rebate on this item."

this was straight from corporation. if anybody still gets in on this deal, it is because the guys at best buy arent reading their bulletins

It's valid because I paid for the item in the store. I odered it online, but the transaction was done in the store.

I didn't think you could order online (even with store pickup) without giving them your credit card number.

Anyway, I think I'm already used to this thing. It is very nice and matches the rest of my stuff much better than my old intellimouse. This one is a keeper! Now to go back and get the PM.

Do NOT recharge your mouse w/anything besides NiMH batteries (the type supplied w/the MX700).

Taken from Logitech web site. Don't do it.

"Q: Can I use other types of rechargeable batteries to power and charge the mouse?
A: Yes, but only just to power the mouse, not charge it. Warning: Do not try to recharge any other type but the specified ones! This means that the mouse must never be put on the Rapid Charge Base Station while equipped with any batteries other than a NiMH batteries. Attempting to recharging any other type of battery will damage your mouse. We strongly recommend that you disconnect the AC power adapter to prevent accidentally recharging the mouse when putting it on the Rapid Charge Base Station by mistake. If you have rechargeable batteries such as NiCad, charge them in their own charger, not the mouse Rapid Charge Base Station.

Although you can use other batteries to power the mouse, we do not recommend it because of the following:

The battery status indicators may be wrong.
Other batteries will not last as long because this mouse uses more power than other cordless mice."

Yeah, my mouse was an open box. Had no batteries in it. I got some of the Energizer Nimh rechargeables, but they don't seem to be charging at all :(

Got it today. Using it right now. The 2 BB near my work and one near my house were both OOS yesterday, but on my lunch hour I went to one and they had several now, sweet. Paid for it, went to my car for a few minutes and grabbed the ad and checked the package to make sure everything was there, I went back in and got the PM. The girl took her sweet time doing everything, but no problems getting it done. She photocopied the ad and cut it out. Easy as pie. Key was having someone who didn't know about the rebate, and keeping the rebate receipt in the car :)

Socal is not OOS as was previously mentioned in the thread. The one @ culver place in Culver city had them.

Got mine today too, but got a better deal than normal due to the customer service guy's mistake

I got the last one they had, bought it, went back in for the price match. He pricematched it as being $39.99, not $49.99 :D After rebate it will cost me $8.51 with tax.

As sexy as this mouse is, I don't really like it all that much compared to my MS Explorer 3.0. The MX700 is shaped better and cordless, but that's about it. It clicks loud and the 3 extra buttons in the center are pretty pointless at the defaults. Plus the USB cable on the base station is way too short. It's supposed to be 8" away from any electronic devices but has to be within 4 feet from your computer?

Yes, I did give my credit card online, however, I watched the guy physically swipe my card and charge it when I was in the store. All they did was hold the item using my CC for collateral. Otherwise there would have been a receipt there already. Anyway, I'm sure I'll get the rebate because the guy printed it out at the register.

I think this mouse may be like other logitech mice. A previous mouseman felt too heavy for me. I opened it up and there was a 1" square steel plate in there. I liked it alot better after I pulled the plate out. I don't particularly feel like voiding my warranty the night that I bought something, but it's something to think about. I couldn't locate a screw hole, either.
