IBM ViaVoice $20 Rebate ("Allow up to eight weeks for you rebate check/cheque to arrive")

17MAY2002 - Mailed rebate.
18JUL2002 - CSR stated rebate was received and being processed.
28AUG2002 - CSR stated rebate had finished processing, was valid, and I should see it in 2-3 weeks.
12SEP2002 - CSR said check had been printed; but all checks were pulled back due to some undescribed error. Expect to see check in 2 weeks at most. (Yeah, right....)

Off to the FTC I go....

EDIT:
Just received the rebate check today!

Just an "FYI"
Alot of the rebates that were being sent to Coppell Texas
are now being fowarded to Miami Florida.
😕

Wonder if that will improve the processing or not?

ZroK // lsman - I got the same "rejection" postcard this week.

Which PNY promotion were you guys initially rejected for - was it PNY Promotion #02-48400 (Circuit City - 28 Jul to 03 Aug 02)????

I've called twice. The first time, the rep tells me I have to call back because her computer froze! The second time they flat-out refused to validate the rebate, stating that only the PNY 256S133 (256MB PC133 SDRAM) was eligible under promotion 02-48400. Parago has pulled all the PNY rebate information from their online database (see my post on Fat Wallet).

Received $10 from Linksys for a CompUSA 7/28 sale on their 802.11b USB adapter. Pretty quick for the folks from Mesa Az.

<< My CC never had any in stock, had to order one. Just a heads up on the rebate, I would suggest that you use the printed rebate from the CC website instead of the register rebate form. It lists all of the RAM that has a rebate. I am fighting with Parago now because they only want to pay me $15 instead of $20 for a CC PNY DDR rebate deal from several weeks ago. Parago says they did not have a $20 rebate for DDR RAM for that offer number in their database. I have to send them a copy of the forms or just go by CC and complain to get my $5. >>

Parago would not pay me my $5 so I went to CC with my copies of everything and they gave me $5 cash.

I submited my first ever 2 rebates, they both for Staples, they both got rejected for stupid reason

- The $30 for 80G 7200rpm HD is rejected for "product was not purchased within the dates specified by this promotion", my receipt shown that the purchased date was 20 days before the promotion ended.

- The $50 for Cendyne 32X CDRW is rejected for "the required product serial number is not included", I wrote the serial twice, one on the receipt and one on the rebate form, how can the missed it?

Is this the static to refused my rebates? Am I the only one? What do I need to do?

Thanks

> For the Cendyne rebate you were supposed to cut out the Serial Number section on the box (in addition to the UPC) and send it in. That's what it meant on the rebate form when they said;

Please attach the following information to the rebate entry form:
Original UPC Code
Original S/N #

Call the rebate center to make sure that's what they wanted and ask them if you can send it in and to what address. If you get lucky they might do one of their "one time approvals" since it's a Staples sponsored rebate.

> For the HD, check your purchase date to make sure it fits the rebate dates. If it does then tell that to the rebate center rep when you check on the Cendyne rebate. They should approve it.

Microsoft rejected the Wheel Mouse Optical rebate I sent because, they said, the product I submitted did not qualify. This was the rebate coupon that had a picture of a different product package, but someone on the HOT DEALS forum had called MS to confirm that all Wheel Mouse Optical packages were OK. Too bad for me.

I, too, just got the notification. Did PNY print 256MB SDRAM UPC codes on the DDR boxes? I still have the cover with the UPC cut out, Maybe I should scan it and post it here..

Went ahead and scanned it.. HERE.. You MAY HAVE TO REFRESH to get image to load...

Essentially, what Parago is saying, is that the various PNY rebates have ONLY been for the 128MB and 256MB SDRAM modules and NEVER included the DDR memory. I have submitted PNY rebates to them for the following PNY rebate offers, and every rebate that was for the 256MB DDR PC2100 memory, is listed in their online documentation and/or on the rebate check as either "256S100" or "256S133" memory modules (never "D256M6421OPT" as listed in the rebate printout):

I 'suspect' that one of three (3) things is happening:
- PNY screwed-up the database they provide the various rebate centers, listing all memory modules in a "mmm-S-sss" format (megabytes-"S" for SIM-speed);
- Circuit City screwed-up and listed the DDR modules when they weren't intended to a 'qualified rebate item';
- Parago (RebatesHQ.com) simply has a bunch of incompetent minimum-wage dataentry clerks that cannot figure out the difference between an "N128S133Y" module and "128S133" module
- or partial/complete combinations of the above.

$10 from Fuji for CDRs; part of a 2 rebate sale on a 50pack spindle from Circuit City on 8/11. The other half of the rebate is from CC and it pending. Fuji's usual quickness is nice.

$30 from Cendyne for a burner from Circuit City on 6/11. This one took some time and I had to call to check up on it. Miraculously, as soon as I called, it showed up. Hmm..

Got the 17" Staples $70 rebate and the Spin 70 $20 rebate today. Send 8/18-20.

K-squared, mine is "02-48773 Purchase PNY 128MB or 256MB Memory at Circuit City only"

too busy at day time to call 🙂) at work)

Upon further checking my image backup, the upc is not even close to 128S133.... and the amount is $20. Not the $15 it said on the status page :|

i got my memorex 40x cdrw rebate today ($19.99 40x cdrw at OD after PM with compusa and 20 off 50). bought the drive around the 1st. pretty fast rebate.

ATI AIW Radeon 8500DV from Circuit City on 7/17/2002 had 2 $50 rebates.

One of them has been rejected at $10 because Circuit City was not an authorized retailer for that rebate? But the rebate printed at the register and was in the national sales flier?

Any ideas? I have calls in with Circuit City and the Rebate place (rebatestatus.com).

Suggestions? Should I go into my local store and raise hell?

well it looks like TCA screwed me too. claimed to have never 'received' any of my rebate materials for a $30 router rebate purchased 3 months ago. even though i have copies, they are 'not responsible' for lost mail. fvckers they probably just got my rebate and threw it in the trash.

SuperSix

- No, PNY did not print 256MB SDRAM UPC bar codes on the DDR memory kits. I've purchased eight different DDR memory kits at several different retail stores since June, in different parts of the country (Mississippi, Oregon, and Utah). I clearly remember that none of the packaging had UPC bar codes pasted-over the original bar codes; and in looking at all my copies of rebates submitted, all the UPCs have the same UPC bar code (UPC 7-51492-21090-2) and information on the actual bar code itself:

D256M6421OPT
DIMM, DDR, 2100
actual bar code
7 51492 21090 2

Again for some reason, Parago is not "recognizing" these memory kits as qualifying for the various rebate promotions even though many retailers have been selling them with advertised rebates.

I would like to begin tracking what PNY rebate submissions and ram-type Parago is rejecting. From what I've read/seen posted here and on Fat Wallet, it appears that Parago is openly rejecting *ALL* submissions for DDR memory ("D256M6421OPT") under at least THREE (3) PNY rebate promotions through Best Buy and Circuit City. Please submit your information to me via PM. I would also like to track how many people under each program have been rejected, so if your promotion appears below, still send me the information. I'll start-off the list as follows:

Promotion // PNY Ram Type // Ram Type as listed by Parago:
02-48400 // D256M6421OPT // Initially listed as "256S133" memory module and rejected as incorrect UPC submission
- Purchase PNY 128MB or 256MB Memory at Circuit City only (28 Jul - 03 Aug 02)
- Rebate: $15.00 (rebate amount incorrect, should be $20.00; resubmitted and rejected as invalid submission)

02-48541 // N128S133Y // Incorrectly listed on rebate check as "128S133" memory module
- Purchase PNY 128MB or 256MB Memory at Circuit City only (21-27 Jul 02)
- Rebate: $13.00 (received)

02-48557 // D256M6421OPT //
- Purchase PNY 128MB or 256MB Memory at Best Buy only (20-24 Aug 02)
- Rebate: $20.00 (pending receipt)

02-48559 // D256M6421OPT // Incorrectly listed on rebate check as "256S133" memory module
- Purchase PNY 128MB or 256MB Memory at Circuit City only (21-27 Jul 02)
- Rebate: $20.00 (received)

02-48773 // D256M6421OPT /// Incorrectly listed on rebate check as "128S133" memory module (lsman)
- Purchase PNY 128MB or 256MB Memory at Circuit City only (11-24 Aug 02)
- Rebate: $20.00 (pending receipt)

02-48776 // D256M6421OPT // Incorrectly listed on rebate check as "256S100" memory module
- Purchase select PNY 128MB or 256MB Memory at Office Depot only (21-27 Jul 02)
- Rebate: $25.00 (received)

Additionally, I strongly encourage everyone to go to PNY Technologies website and FLOOD them with complaints. It "appears" PNY has dealt with this "issue" before, as their "Rebate Inquiry" hotlink on their Tech Support splash-page, takes you to a simple single-page form titled "Rebate Inquiries Contact Form", which is nothing more than a no-frills online complaint form. PNY apparently has *NO* online listing or catalog of their current rebate promotions, much less what PNY Technologies products are covered under these promotions.

call in and now the rebate made valid. They still said the upc code is not right and will do it anyway.

Also, ClickSmart 310 $20. They said i do not buy within the date which is incorrect. Also update it now to valid.
