Got my 3 x $20 rebate from Amazon.com for FAR Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition today. Submitted around 4-12, mailed by Rebatestatus.com on May 22 and received June 3. About a 7 week turnaround, and I even made $0.15! ;)

Umm, nope! And I'm one page away from filling up the 50-entry limit under my second phone number! I think it's time to quit shopping. :)

Been away for awhile, so don't know if this was mentioned before by anyone else.

Bought Adobe Elements 2.0 at Costco; got Costco rebate ok.

Didn't get Adobe card in box, so I called Adobe; they sent it to me and then I sent all info to Adobe rebate center as I qualify for upgrade
$ 30. rebate...or so I thought.

Adobe's rebate center sent back all of my info; says Costco processes what I buy there, but I already got the first one ! Nowhere in the fine print does it say this. And this second rebate is supposed to be from Adobe !

Guess I'll have to call Adobe and speak to the person who I spoke to originaly...

Any one else have the same problem ?

?????????????????

Does anyone know how long it takes to see your rebate status from a staples rebate?
I purchased an 80GB maxtor drive from staple around 5/13 and have already received confirmation on one of the $30 rebates (the one from rebateshq) but I haven't got any info from the other rebate.

Also for those that buy nokia phones that come with rebates you can track them here;

http://www.nokiapromos.com

They usually won't even look at your rebate till it's been 30 days (which is the normal return policy time for most companies).

As a heads up to some people who sent in their 120 gig WD hard drive rebate,

I bought the 120 gig WD 8MB SE hard drive from Officemax the other day and promptly sent out the two rebate forms ($50 and $30). I was suprised to find out that had been processed so quickly by RebatesHQ (6/3), but both of them were rejected as being Invalid. The first one ($50) was rejected due to a missing or invalid capacity label or upc. The rebate only required the original capacity label, which I sent. After talking with the CSR, it looks like they will give this rebate to me once I give them my UPC number. Regardless, it ticks me off that I followed their rules to exact specifications and it was still rejected. The second rebate was actually listed as an incorrect rebate. It was for $20 and for Kingston RAM. I have no idea how they came up with this, as the form is clearly marked as the $30 WD rebate. After calling, I got that fixed but its still listed as Invalid. I'm going to call back tomorrow and give them the UPC number (even though its included on the $30 rebate submission form as well). It was difficult to figure out what the CSR was saying due to a thick accent, hopefully next time I'll get one I can communicate with a little easier.

I've sent in plenty of rebates before, and these 2 rebates are the only ones I have had problems with. As far as I'm concerned, RebatesHQ is awful. Heck, when I called up the automated system told me my tracking numbers couldn't be found. I had to lie to the phone system to get through to a real person, who was then able to find my info in less than 15 seconds. This seems awfully shady so far, like they've gone through a lot of work to make this process difficult. Luckily I have copies of everything and will be contacting OfficeMax in case things don't work out when I call tomorrow. Interestingly, the second I mentioned that I had copies to prove what I sent, the CSR became far more cooperative.

Thanks for the heads up.

I sent both the capacity label and the UPC to both rebate places. Quite frankly I don't give a damn if the WD $30 is a mistake and they had better honor that since it was the only reason I bought the drive.

Luckily I too made copies of everything.

I must admit though that my experience with rebateshq has been pretty good, they rejected one of my previous maxtor rebates but when I called they fixed it and it emmidiately went through.

Well all I had to do was call up RebatesHQ and give them my UPC # for both rebates and they validated me. So that was pretty quick and painless.

As for the 6 posts in 4 years, I haven't really been around much but my father gives me some heads up w/ regards to deals every so often. I felt I would post about my rebate experience, and so I tried to make an account. It turns out my account from 4 years ago still came up as valid, so here I am again :)

I'm having the same problems with those rebates as you. What number did you call to reach a person? I can't get around the automated system.

Here's what works for me:
call 1-800-477-3314, wait for choices
press 2, then wait for choices
press 2, wait
press 1 to confirm your phone #, machine may tell you that it has you info (or not!)
then it'll say press (I forget what) to end call - don't do it - then it'll say press 6 to speak to someone.

On the OMAX WD120GB $30 rebate, rebateHQ apparently does not have the 2nd SE UPC as valid. I called, was very nice, and explained that this was in the OMAX rebate book for either UPC. She adjusted it and mine now shows as valid! So you might have to call on this one.

If I got the 120GB drive from OM and I show two rebates from rebateshq, one shows it's for $20 and it's for the KINGSTON DDR memory and it's invalid (I know I need to call about that one) but then it show's another rebate for only $10 but it doesn't show what it's for (I'm guessing it was for a phone I got that had a $10 mir on it). My question is, should I also see a $30 rebate for the 120GB drive as well?

Reading over this whole thread I noticed a fairly common complaint: The Cendyne rebates from RebatesHQ are a pain.

I'm relatively new at this so I've only sent about 10 rebates to them. 8 out of those 10 have been accepted, the two that haven't were both Cendyne!

The first was from OfficeMax. I finally had to call OM to get it resolved. I talked to a really great CSR and she cleared it right up.

The second is from Staples. I haven't called them yet, I'm giving the RebatesHQ people their 24 hours to fix it and then I'll call...

Damn bastards. Ya, I said it.

Pretty interesting...and fishy...I bought the Staples 80G Maxtor with the two $30 rebates, the Optimum CD-Rs with $10 rebate, and the Tensor lamp with $13 rebate at the same time, sent the rebates in separate envelopes on the same day and the only ones that show up on the web site are the Tensor and Optimum...the two cheapest rebates. Guess I'm going to have to call and find out WTF is up with the two rebates that are worth the most money to me.

Parago messed up both my rebates for the OfficeMax WD 120GB HDD. The $50 one was invalid due to improper capacity label, they said. Called them yesterday, straightened it out.

The second one ($30) was listed as a $5.00 Belkin network card - I've never purchased a Belkin product in my LIFE! I called them, was transferred to India, and got disconnected while she was working on the rebate. However, I just checked the status, and it's been updated to valid.

Looks like I'll be getting both of my checks!

I had the same problem with Western Digital 120GB SE. The $50 rebate was processed as a $20 80GB promotion, the $30 one was processed as a $20 40GB promotion. After calling, I got the $30 fixed, have to call back again for the other one because the CSR made a special request on that.

It's so annoying - I mean it's easy to fix, but it seems like they're trying to defraud us out of our money! Ugh.

You are right. Better watch out on the future rebates.

Don't get me started on easierrebates - I sent in two low-dollar (luckily) rebates, and neither of them are showing up on their site - a $15 OM rebate for a Mad Dog sound card and a $10 OM rebate for a 50 pk. of Fuji CD-Rs. They were sent in early May/late April respectively - and absolutely NO word yet on them. Emails go unanswered.

My sister and I are having trouble with that $30 rebate last week from officemax on the Western Digital 120gb harddrive. My status online said my upc was wrong, so I called and it's under review. My sister's is totally screwed up. It not only shows the wrong amount and promotion (80gb drive instead of 120gb drive) but also says the upc is wrong and have to fax everything back in. What a freaking joke. I'm getting sick of these idiots working in the rebate
processing departments.

UPDATE:

Called like 7 times trying to get my sister's straightened out. On the 6th call, they changed the amount of the rebate back to $30 as well as the correct drive but the upc still couldn't be validated. On the 7th call, someone validated the upc while the previous 6 other people couldn't or wouldn't. I tried getting my upc validated from the same person but it's showing it's under review and can't do anything for me. Wish I would have gotten him in the first place.

I think they (rebatehq) just did a (overdue) changes on the rebate query system.
They add a "order by date desc"

Means now you see the latest rebate on first page. Thus solving most of the limit problem.

And i can see more than 50 records.

Looks and feels like RebateHQ is purposely scamming people, hoping that besides the 60% not sending their stuff in another 20-40% shake out from simply entering stuff wrong and not bothering fixing it. This is a real pain and I will let my local OM know that I don't appreciate that!
