Considering I got my mac mini for free, is there any reason to run my linux box over the OS X machine?


It's up to you. Try Linux on it if your curious. It will take some time to set it up correctly.

For me it's easy decision because with Linux I run the same software on my PC as on my Laptop. Thats not realy possible with Windows or OS X.

i have a mac g3 ibook which ran pretty slow with OS9 and X. I am more comfortable with linux so i decided to install it. i installed linux kernel 2.6 with enlightenment wm and it screams compared to os9/X. the only annoyance ive seen is flash support on ppc... but i guess i really dont need to see fancy webpages.
