i've been looking around for a tv stand and i came across this. The minute i saw it, i fell in love with it. I wanted to get it but walmart don't ship it to the hawaii walmart stores. Disappointed, i searched some more and found the same tv stand at sears.com. *sigh*, and they don't ship to hawaii either. Some other sites online has the same stand and they do ship to hawaii, but the shipping charge will cost me an arm and a leg. Maybe this stand is just not meant for me.
yea, sorry ATOT, I just felt like whining tonight.![]()

Living in Alaska, we have the same problems sometimes.... shipping costs are more than the actual item a lot of the time. Though, Walmart, Bestbuy, and Sears all ship here. They don't ship direct to store, but they ship here.

Here's a thought. If you live in Hawaii, maybe instead of worrying about what stand to put your TV on, you can go outside and enjoy one of the most beautiful places planet Earth has to offer. I have a fairly expensive home entertainment center and an expansive collection of DVDs, Blu-rays and video games; I'm somewhat of a media whore. But I live in Portland, Oregon; there's really not that much to see here. If I lived in Hawaii, I'd sell my entertainment center, get a beach chair and some Ray-Bans and sit on the beach watching the breasts on display against the horizon.
a bad thing about living in hawaii: you're living on an island in the middle of the largest ocean on the face of the fucking planet
A guy on another forum I visit mentioned that his parents pay $0.44/kWh (!!!) for electricity, although $0.30/kWh is closer to the norm down there. But yeah, both are way higher than the US, and even most of the world I think. :QOriginally posted by: Omegachi

Not to mention one of the most expensive places. Food, electricity, housing, etc., all of it is generally much higher than the rest of the US. Must just be part of living on islands, most everything has to be shipped there, and the stuff produced locally is probably on a small enough scale that it's not very cost effective.Originally posted by: edro

You live in the most amazing place on Earth.
I think you can live with a few inconveniences.
Great place to visit, just don't know if I could afford to live there.![]()
you're right. its ridiculous how much we pay here for stuff. though for some reason, gas is cheaper here (oahu) than most places on the mainland.

It seems like prices have gone up a lot recently, does most of your power come from diesel or other oil products?
