i've been looking around for a tv stand and i came across this. The minute i saw it, i fell in love with it. I wanted to get it but walmart don't ship it to the hawaii walmart stores. Disappointed, i searched some more and found the same tv stand at sears.com. *sigh*, and they don't ship to hawaii either. Some other sites online has the same stand and they do ship to hawaii, but the shipping charge will cost me an arm and a leg. Maybe this stand is just not meant for me. 🙁

yea, sorry ATOT, I just felt like whining tonight. 🙁

Find a local real wood furniture shop and buy something from there.

You will get 100x better quality (real wood) and you can usually pick the color stain you want.

I went that route and spent about 15% more but got exactly what I wanted. Those Walmart stands are horrible.

They can't ship to customers in Hawaii? Can you go into a Wal-Mart or Sears and special order it in store?

nope, they just don't ship to hawaii period.

Have a relative on the mainland that can buy it and ship it to you?

By that point you might as well buy expensive nice furniture with how much shipping costs.

OP: You get nice weather year round and beautiful beaches, you can't have everything 🙂

looking at the design, I would opt to buy the wood and build it myself, it would be cheaper in the long run even if you used a high quality wood......

Boo fvcking hoo

You live in the most amazing place on Earth.
I think you can live with a few inconveniences.

Not to mention one of the most expensive places. Food, electricity, housing, etc., all of it is generally much higher than the rest of the US. Must just be part of living on islands, most everything has to be shipped there, and the stuff produced locally is probably on a small enough scale that it's not very cost effective.

Great place to visit, just don't know if I could afford to live there. 😀

I would gladly take the perfect weather even if it meant not getting things shipped to me.

you're right. its ridiculous how much we pay here for stuff. though for some reason, gas is cheaper here (oahu) than most places on the mainland.
